hiro mashima apperently tried to daw meliodas and elizabeth special FT style while nakaba suzuki did a FT special NNT style but suzuki's special was funnier imo
don't get me wrong, i liked FT but suzuki's characters got more substance to them compared to mashima's. i frickin love ban over all of FT casts and i cried more on recent chapters (you know why, someone died) than i ever did for FT.

what's funnier is that almost all shounen series got the same formula, but only these two got compared.
well there are certain similarities between the two at first but they start to disappear later. most shounen stuff got the same formula cos it was initially coined by dragon ball which later inspired the current big 3 - soon to be big 2.
and big 1 later. 2 of them slated to end pretty soon.
I read the first few chapters and the "certain" similarities are huge. Like both mangas take place in the same universe or something because the similarities run very deep.

The author, Nakaba's sure have came far. Compared to Kongou Banchou, Nanatsu no Taizai got very good storytelling despite the obvious shounen element of having predictable plot. This sure feels like the first time I read shounen manga. Very refreshing.
refreshing? This manga is pretty much a copy-pasta from Fairy Tail in art, characters, comedy and the battles and emotion everything plays out exactly the same. And is even worse if you watch the anime because the soundtrack sounds the same too. I even had to look to see if both mangakas were the same because the plagiarism is insane.

you're definitely blind, and an idiot to the boot too. the art's so blatantly different, the only way you can mistake them to be the same is by sticking a fork through your cornea.
as for character, comedy and battles, all shounen manga in existence use the same theme, being rinsed and repeated to the point that it became a stereotype; if you can't stomach that, you better stop reading shounen stuffs or you'll definitely enter into a world of butthurt in the future.

even though the art is quite a different style... the characters are pretty different and the tone is totally different. although... you got us on the music thing. 7 deadly sins and fairy tale have essentially the same music
OMG i'm so old. I remember defending Fairy Tail against idiots who claimed it was copy of Naruto/Bleach/One Piece. And now it has it's own retarded fanboys, who think their manga/anime is the pinnacle of originality and everything is copying it.
Yeah, but the main difference is that Nakaba worked in Fairy Tail for years, as one of Mashima's assistants, just like Miki Yoshikawa (YanMega, Yamada&7witches), so it's normal some people compare them directly...
For me, I wouldn't mind at all to have two Mashima's and Nakaba is clearly the closest thing... So I simply enjoy FT and Nanatsu ^^
