Shingeki no Kyojin Creator: “Armin is a Girl!”

A recent interview with Shingeki no Kyojin creator Hajime Isayama has made a rather surprising revelation to the series overwhelming mass of devoted fans – the fact that Eren’s clever blonde friend Armin is apparently female.
The shocking development was made when Isayama was asked as to which of the title’s “female characters” is closest to the sexy and capable Mikasa Ackerman – to which Isayama had briefly responded with “Armin”.
While Isayama’s statement was clearly made in jest, there is also a lack of evidence supporting Armin’s female gender – yet some fans still seem to have determinedly taken Isayama’s words for fact, making various speculations and theories in hopes of “revealing the truth” behind his remark.
The brief interview was conducted by Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine:
Aside from conspiracy theories and a possible doujinshi sub-genre, there does not however seem to be much danger of the comments being taken seriously – although stranger things have happened.
