They took some pretty nice character designs and replaced them with generic ugly shit. Fucking Madhouse always have to rape their adaptions to death...
'boosted' as in, the overall art, background and shit included. but yeah, I still prefer original Iwaaki Hitoshi's character design (cue Historie).

The only difference is, in the thing the alien mimics, this case is a parasite ..
Curious is the lack of blood splashing in the anime. (Censorship?) The scene of the car also known. (Alien manipulate gravity or the rest of the body would be crushed)

As much as I hate Aya Hirano, I have to admit that her Migi voice was pretty nice and fresh, has some Konata vibes in it.

The issue with the car is not the hand, but the rest.
Okay, the parasite inhabits the whole arm and likely dampened the impact, but the problem I'm having with that scene is that his shoulder would dislocate, his spine break and his feet would be unable to provide enough grip to stay where he was in the first place.
you'll have to read the manga it explains everything.
The parasyte even tho it is in his arm it also enhances his body higher strenth boost faster speed great jumping ability ect.
That only happens when Migi had to sacrifice 30% of himself in an emergency to save Shinji. In the manga, the parasites attack people and find that they break their bones and dislocate their own limbs because human bodies are not sturdy enough to withstand the parasite's style.
