The premier episode for the rather long winded “Inou Battle wa Nichijou kei no Naka de” (“When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace”) has been scoring high marks with viewers for its clever spin on the overused “chuunibyou” shtick by granting the protagonist and his schoolmates mysterious powers – thankfully not taking itself too seriously in the process.

"overused chuunibyou shtick"?
there was ONE series before this using it and suddenly it's overused?
By that Definition, EVERYTHING is overused . .
like your mom's ****. Sorry, sorry, the internet was nagging me to do it. How can you overuse "playing pretend" because that's all it is, except in most cultures the people in these shows would be to old
Chuunibyou is more common than you think. The one series you're talking about was the only one recently to use it as a main theme, but the concept itself is pretty up there on the list of 'overused anime tropes.'
Name 12 examples without looking them up, I dare you.
3 legit ones would be hard as balls already.
Even just 5!
i guess one could make the argument that any time a character fantasizes or rolls wit a lie or a delusion in any way it is the same thing.
grasping at straws there but you could say it is overdone because anime is a lot of fantasy in a vaguely reality setting like chuunibyou is founded on.
It is literally kids acting out fantasies of being anime character/super heroes/magical girls.
It's really about the delusion - not the superpowers, which are usually the case in anime. So there's Oreimo, and............. Di Gi Charat?
There also Chaos:Head, and IIRC Uiharu once explained Espers in Index basically are people with hard case of chunin.
A few months ago I commented to a friend about how overused it is. Rift is right.
It's featured even in the original Battle Royale novel.
This looks very interesting. Picked up.
Im sure you are watching it for the brests like eveyone else.
You are only watching it for the boobs, arnt you?
Boob physic at it's best!
oppai daisuki
Trigger save the anime...?
No. No. No.
This could have been done WITHOUT the sterotypical crutch of the characters being high school students. WHY DO THEY HAVE TO BE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, JESUS
Another show with a shitface male MC? No thank you.
Couldn't finish the first episode, it was too annoying
the title is tl;dr
BEWBS
What the hell is up with those Kill La Kill-esque boxing gloves?
trigger is the animation studio for this
Same studio
I loved the Kill la kill reference.
BOOBS
I love how they made the whole "Dark Flame" stuff useless.
And how they keep the same atmosphere, even after the powers (anoying chunni, clueless boobs, straightman redhead)
Also, dat kill la kill ref.
Another anime with generic/stereotype Kirito look-alike main protagonist.
Another idiotic/generic commenter with too much free time.
You have bad taste in anime if you used Kirito as an example and couldn't pick a better one out of the similar thousands of characters before him.
he does look similar, although I've been watching to many shows that they're all starting to run together.
Looks more like Hataraku Maou's Yamada Maou to me
