Possibly one of the least likely candidates to be the subject of a feature film, world renowned block dropping sensation Tetris is now set to receive a live-action SF movie from Threshold Entertainment – sure to be an absolute blockbuster.
Threshold Entertainment was the same studio that brought several Mortal Kombat movies to fruition as well as the disaster known as “Food Fight” – potentially serving as a foreshadowing for their next puzzle-game oriented project.
Naturally, little else has been revealed as to the film’s particulars or just how a game with no story will be adapted in the first place, although the likes of Tron perhaps demonstrate it may not be such a lost cause after all.
I’m waiting for an action flick based on crossword puzzles.
Next live action: “Rock – Paper – Scissors”
Hey, if they can make Battleship the board game into a live action movie then I’m sure they’ll find a way to make Tetris into one.
Probably some sort of hacker movie like ‘Swordfish’ with the hacking looking like Tetris or something. >_>
