A woman who paid a middle school boy for sex using her welfare payments and then threatened to expose their liasons to his friends when he tried to pull out of the deal has been arrested for engaging in child prostitution.
According to police, a 35-year-old unemployed Nagano prefecture woman had begun paying a 15-year-old boy with whom she was acquainted to join her for intimate encounters at her home, paying him “several thousand yen” for the service.
When the boy tried to withdraw from the arrangement, his patron took umbrage and threatened “to expose our deal to your friends” using Line.
Police would later arrest her on child prostitution and blackmail charges.
The woman admits the charges, with police finding on further investigation that she had apparently been receiving state benefits and using them to fund the encounters.
Online the incident has been prompting howls of envy, disgust at the notion of such an “old hag” abusing a poor teenager, and of course consternation at the notion of state-funded schoolboy sex – although so far the scandalously sexist wage disparity the boy’s earnings and those of the average JC seem to have escaped comment.
