I'm sad cause U.S. BD release most likely won't have the extras.
Where is the yuri?
This site only likes harem, het, and yaoi. It sees yuri as nothing more than a piece of shit.
Hey, speak for yourself...
Great sexy BD but needs Season 2 ASAP.
I wonder what the expectations will be as far as sales go? the first BD volume came out on the 24th of this month, we won't know until October as to how well it did. Rail Wars flopped for example selling only 1388 copies first week, I guess people didn't care for it much.

Na, we needs to sexualize the world more.
Why are these days' animes seem clones to each others?
Because anime today is shit.
There are too many studios, and they make garbage because that's all they can make with no time and no budget.
Writers, producers, directors and studios have no balls. So it's SAFER to make a copy of something that is already popular than to be ORIGINAL. Because if you write something original and you can't sell enough shitty disposable merchandise and discs from it, it won't make any money.
If you've been watching this stuff for 20+ years, you'd know that NOONE used to make 11 or 12 episodes and then WAIT for sales before resuming production a year later; shows used to be a MINIMUM of 26 episodes. You'd know there was no such thing at all of a 12-episode series, a program like that would be direct-to-video 20 years ago. Third, there wasn't the diarrhea flood of useless interchangeable merchandise for EVERY damn show there is today- just look at any online store - it's ALL THE SAME MERCHANDISE - just different characters or titles on it. And last, fundamentally there wasn't the volume of anime, PERIOD.
There is about 2-3x more anime series every year now than there used to be, and this isn't a good thing because they don't have 2-3x more good writers or producers. The swarm of shitty 'light novels', the H-games-with-no-porn.. these are all terrible attempts to find content to show on TV and they'll take anything. They're just throwing darts at the TV and hoping something sticks.
tl;dr anime is shit and it's the fans' fault for continuing to gobble it up like human centipedes.
1-cour shows were unheard of back in the day? The 12-episode DNA^2 aired on TV almost exactly 20 years ago (Fall 1994 season).
If you want to blame someone, don't blame fans of this kind of content for buying the discs and merchandise they like. Blame the fans of so-called "good" original SRSDeep/GrimDark/2Mature4U anime, particularly in the West, for NOT buying what they like. When overseas fans decided they'd rather whine about subtitle colors and karaoke effects than buy the shows they liked, they effectively ceded all influence over what got made to the already-influential Japanese otaku.
Anime has been toned down way too much for my liking these days. Where are the fanservice shows, proper ones with tits, ones that aren't ashamed of it either. We're stuck with just moe mostly.
Megami/Nyantype haven't had a good fanservice poster since Infinite Stratos/No Game No life.

That is partially true. Although there has been some truly excellent, original anime that has been created in the recent years too, so throwing the baby out with the bathwater is just a sad generalization.
There may be many clones, but that is not limited to anime. It's every genre, and plus the reality is the animes are not all that bad. The clones are here because it worked the first time. The only reason it didn't keep working as well is because we've seen it before, it's still a good series, just good because of what came before it.
There was some pretty shit series back then too, you just don't hear about them.
What I sincerely think is happening is a bit of a holding pattern. There is not a lack of great shows, just not as many, and not in the vein some way expect. For example a Cowboy Bebop show now wouldn't work. Not because it would seem like a clone, but because that style, that method of storytelling, like fashion, is out of style right now. It doesn't make it any less good, but I do not crave another Cowboy Bebop right now, I crave another Black Lagoon. And lo and behold, it's coming back, and I will be HURLING money at it.
The good news is the Under The Dog kickstarter rocked the requested price hardcore, almost hitting its second episode stretch goal. That was NEEDED. It PROVED that if you put forth some effort in your anime and show its strengths, you can get full creative control of the creation and make it what you truly want with input from the fans without giving them control because they trusted you with it based on your proof of concept. And it just means the consumer pays up front before they can see it fully for the product they get after.
You know what that used to be called in its historical form?
Buying DVDs/VHS. It's back in its new form.
Nothing in anime is truly "original" anymore.(A medium with at least a 50 year life span. Get over yourself. And this is true not just for anime either.
