Top VRMMOFPS simulation anime Sword Art Online 2 has aired its 12th episode, with a barrage of gunfire seeing daring gunslingers Kirito and Shinon teaming up against yet another dastardly foe – and seemingly driving its drama to breaking point, to say nothing of the premise of games with no logout short of death.
Additionally a new game has been announced for the series by way of TGS – tentatively named Sword Art Online 3 – with not even so much as its platform or release date unveiled, though more information is expected to accompany the Dengeki Bunko autumn event scheduled for October 5th.

I'm waiting for Log Horizon. Better than this. Phantom Bullet was a bit of a dissapointment. The thing that will amuseme the most is if they have a special episode where it shows Sinon joining ALO as a cat girl.
Yeah, I liked the first half of the first season, it had enough good points for me to tolerate Kirito being such a Mary Sue. Then Log Horizon came along and blew it out of the water.

Oh yes, the 2nd best FPS player in a national tournament dies like an idiot to a sniper bullet because it had never occurred to him in his probably 1000+ hours of play that snipers exist.
Oh wait this is a Gary Stu anime, where no one else can be "cool" for more than 2 minutes before being unceremoniously offed by characters massively powered by their plot armors.
I'm surprised Sinon was allowed to kill anyone important and survive. Heathcliff was the only one who could compete with Kirito in the first season, and remember how that turned out? In ALO, the only person besides Kirito to do anything remotely cool was Recon, and we never hear from him again. He might as well have actually committed suicide.
You could say it's because she's a girl, but the previous ones were pretty useless.
Recon was more of that "if you don't like me, you're automatically evil and/or pathetic" type of character, in which he falls into the massively pathetic slot.
Not getting the slightest slice of shit from the girl he likes, portrayed as being extremely incompetent, and unceremoniously suicide bombed(which me might as well did IRL, as you said) in the final battle.
Sinon is the heroine of the arc, she is allowed to have a few scenes showing that she is a competent fighter, but after showing 3+ eps worth of whiny, "help me Kirito-kun" side and not being able to pull her own damn trigger in that period.
Only one of them was visible on satellite scan, so no, he didn't know the sniper existed. There are plot holes, but this isn't one of them. Your mountain just turned into a molehill.
A top player would know that when only 4 players are alive and one doesn't show up on radar, that one who didn't show up would be a sniper and try to PLAY AROUND it.
That's what should make him a goddamn top player, not a target practice for a whiny heroine.
even top players fall to snipers on a regular basis due to suprise moments. that's the point of sniping after all.

No. Because they have her real life address and could attack her regardless when she plays the game. Surely you've seen up to the current episode where they practically explain that someone in the real world breaks into your apartment and injects you with a drug which causes heart failure and soon death?
Yes, i've seen that. But if Kirito shoots her (while everyone sees it) and she dies for real then Sterben's plan won't work anymore in the sense that it is not HIS gun that killed her. They seemed to be playing by those rules.

They're definitely milking it for all its worth, but on the bright side, they're pretty much translating the light novel into anime line for line, which is a good thing.
I'm slightly concerned they will have to rush Mothers Rosario at the rate they're taking with GGO, that or drop Mothers Rosario and set up Alicization and announce a Season 3 after the 24th Episode. We're on Episode 12 now, at the rate they're going through the material it might not be until Episode 16/17 that they're done and dusted with this arc.
