It doesn't really matter weather they are canon or not. the fact is, Kirito gets girls left and right without actually doing anything.
But hes not actively looking for girls, hes loyal to Asuna for the entire series of LNs.

It's mostly about the fact that he has to interact with someone in the game and the writer seemed to think that the only male in-game friends Kirito needs are Klein and Agil. Thus, more women.
But it's clear that Kirito is loyal to Asuna. Sure, the girls do like him, but then again it might or might not be “love”. Japan is weird as far as friendship between males and females who did not know each other since childhood goes, so it is far easier to assume that a girl liking someone (and possibly even admiring someone) means she is in love with that person. Even more so, the word many Japanese use to tell others that they “love” them is one that translates to “like” rather than “love”.
Case in point, Silica. Sure, she admires Kirito and all that stuff, but does she really “love” him? Or is it a simple friendship with admiration on her part? Not to mention that with her being of that particular age, the line between the two blurs because hormones sometimes cause people to cross the lines they wouldn't otherwise even if it's not exactly “love”.
Sachi, on the other hand, was clearly in the “in love with him” group. Nothing came out of it, though, and he didn't find out until the very end (oblivious much?).
Alicization arc isn't harem really at all. That's after Mother's Rosario.

They didn't say exactly the line of reasoning but I think it was something like that: real life DG is presumably ready to kill IRL Sinon, might as well be in her room as of now, but he wants to do it when Sinon is killed in game, he wouldn't do if game DG doesn't kill her character because that's how game DG wants it.
If Sinon woke up IRL she could have a IRL DG ready to go ballistic on her ass for blowing his cover up.
To me it did sound like bullshit actually, but if you payed attention you'd know they do address it.

If Sinon "dies" in the game (killed by DG), she will be killed by the other DG in real life. Didn't you pay attention? Kirito figured out that there were 2 DeathGun(s) involved - one "player" in the game and one in real life who kills the players in real life when they "die" in the game. Is it that hard to follow?
No. Actually Sinon leaves the game before the guy turns up at her apartment, she frantically searchs the area believing he may be there but he isn't. She gets a knock at the door...
Dieing in the tourney doesn't allow you to log out, its mentioned in the book at some point, I think when Sinon's teammate is beat by Pale rider (super speedy guy?).
