Unsatisfied with invading only Phantasy Star Online 2, virtual diva Hatsune Miku as well as her other Vocaloid cohorts have now seized dominance over Nexon’s MapleStory – solely to hold a concert and star in a slew of in-game events.
One such event is a dancing rhythm game (the Vocaloid staple of staples) where players press keys in time with on-screen prompts and receive loot ranging from a number of Vocaloid inspired goods.
A video demonstrating the seemingly bland rhythm game in action:
The original promotional video:
The collaboration event will last until the 24th of September and unfortunately is currently unavailable to barbarian players – though with Miku’s popularity continuing to grow, it might only be a matter of time before she ends up invading even the likes of World of Warcraft…
How much did those chon thieves have to pay for this stunt? This is so typical I’m not even surprised – the same old Korean strategy of using bribes, buyouts and plain plagiarism to conflate Korean “culture” and Japanese culture in the eyes of Westerners in order to capitalize on Japan’s positive image and bury Korean crimes under another layer of lies and plagiarism. It’s both kind of depressing and incredibly telling that what the gooks do when they hit the inevitable wall caused by their reliance on theft and absolute lack of anything resembling a culture – they attempt to parasitize even more on Japanese culture, buying the legal rights (sure as hell not the moral rights) to Japanese pop culture with blood money made from IP theft (Samsung/LG industrial espionage case), unlawful occupation of sovereign territory (Takeshima and the violent, war-mongering revisionist propaganda that the gooks spew about it), theft of Japanese pop culture (idol industry, “manhwa”), fabrication of false history and “culture” (“precursors to samurai and kendo”, taekwondo) and attempts at undermining the Japanese economy with terrorism (Osaka May 2013 stabbings).
And for all those who’re about to shitstorm me because I pin the blame on the gooks as a whole instead of the individual companies, read up on the Takeshima conflict and look at the commentary of the “idols” – if that isn’t regurgitation of government opinions, I don’t know what is. The whole Korean multimedia industry answers to the country’s thieving, propagandistic, hateful, lying revisionist government, which the people elect again and again. This is not the fault of a single company – this is the fault of every single Korean who hasn’t left their country and their bloody crimes behind for good.
to long, did not read.
I guess this would be the only good thing about Maple Story.
Really people still play that steaming pile of dog flop?
Hatsune Miku in WOW…? I can just see her appear as this dimensional boss summoning and her vox’d notes each damage a specific class depending on the note as she sings, so she’d be a complete bitch of a boss because it depends what song she is singing how much damage she does to what players and how quickly.
people are still playing that s♥♥t?
I think I haven’t seen any mention of events that happened in Mabinogi(North America) this year. Those Hatsune Miku and Sword Art Online events.
