Too bad the manga turns into super saiyan shit later on, at least the beginning part is cool.
Yes, the beginning was good and had a really special mood about it. NOTHING is left of that when it turns into the umpteenth battle centered who's the next opponent kind of manga.
Why do people get displeased when crazy super powers enter the picture? They sound like scene kids who are critical about everything.

When mainstream became too mainstream. It's a SHOUNEN series for fuck's sake. A manga to draw a specific demographic in not otaku who's exchanged life for 2D because they've seen similar plots for the duration of their otaku lives.
The world keeps eating the same crap marvel and DC shits out, you don't see people talking crap about it on the net, do you? Why criticize this for over something small like uber powers?

Some of the changes to the anime are kind of weird.
Manga: Touka lures investigator using false location (That sewer drainage place) because she knows Amon's Quinque (or whatever it's called) won't work well in the cramped space.
Anime: He sets a trap in that sewer place where his quinque will be less effectinve because who the fuck knows why. Yes, I know he has the mother's weird tentacle thing, but still.
Not to mention the gourmet and the dove battles are reversed. Kind of janks up the character progression.
It's a double trap.
He knows its a trap and brings the mother's caterpillar.
Remember, man-eating pseudo-humans are people too.
