An English-language Steam release has been announced for top romance visual novel Clannad, at last allowing Steam-bound barbarian gamers in on the heart-wrenching drama that is Clannad – and just in time for its 10th anniversary.
The news comes by way of Sekai Project’s panel at Japan Expo USA, though not much else has so far been revealed about the game’s precise content other than that it will be the fully-voiced version – and it even goes without a predicted release date for eager fans to anticipate.

This fucking marketing technique...
The question is: Will there be uncensored under-18 HCGs?
Pretty sure it'll be an all-ages version. Although, Steam does have age checks placed into the system so I guess it's not impossible...but still doubtful.
its not a porn game.
Are you over 18?
Yes/No.
How to get past this?!
Time will let you get pass it my friend.
I'm not sure if Valve has an official policy on porn, but I haven't seen any actual adult games on Steam so far.
Certain titles available elsewhere even had their raunchy content removed for the Steam release. However, the publishers probably just did it for the sake of avoiding age rating requirements.
I saw porn game on Steam its called The Witcher and South Park stick of Truth also GTA
I think you mistook Clannad for Kanon Kanon is Porn Clannad is not
Clannad all ages http://vndb.org/v4
Kanon SEX !! 18+ http://vndb.org/v33
Dude Clannad don't have +18CG, it's not even an eroge --'
Clannad IS n all ages Release. It's only the Tomoyo release that's ecchi!
Then pointless to get unless it's the Tomoyo release then.
I meant these steaming HCG? http://cgv.blicky.net/cla/
Dejiko prefers Kyo x Iori yaoi-nyo.
Fuck off landwhale.
Everyone and their mother has already played this game years ago when it was translated.
Putting niche visual novels (yes, all "anime games" are niche) and eroge in the mainstream market like this will just increase the number of SJW bitching about them.
Remember the thing with Rapelay? Expect to see that all over again if you insist on dragging those games into the public.
The tide is turning against SJW's at the moment, though, at least when it comes to vidya.
No, it's not. People like Anita Sarkeesian are loved by the media now more than ever.
I don't care about all the "we need more X in video games" if it's about western stuff, but if they begin targeting VNs/JRPGs (and they will), I'll be pretty pissed.
If things continue as they are now, in a couple years the new Atelier game might be full of transgender lesbian otherkin characters.
well they are full of lesbians at least
what is this game full of lesbians Atelier? Don't think I know it.
Yeah, though things would go a helluva lot smoother if the mainstream sites weren't still trying to cover their asses in spite of all that's going on. What's really disgusting me is that, even when a publication does cover the story, they focus on the "a woman's being attacked for 'personal' matters" angle, but given the overwhelming amount of backlash in the comments of such articles, I'm hoping they can't keep up this charade for long.
Also, @Anon 20:57
You're not familiar with the Zoe Quinn scandal, are you?
Sorry, I meant Anon 21:03. Dammit, why doesn't the edit feature work for me on this site?
At this point, not even committing genocide of famous people could convince the media to speak bad of SJWs or women. "Turning the tide", isn't even appropriate, it's closer to "engulfed by the supernova".
The mainstream gaming media are still bending over 720 degrees for SJWs. They don't care that games are being suppressed or developers bullied. All that matters is protecting women and getting hits.
Even if they have zero evidence backing them up, they are always quick and persistent to bully innocent people with allegations and accusations of sexual misconduct.
The so-called "witch hunting of women" they purport to be combating is in actual fact aimed toward men, not women. There's proof of it everywhere. The gaming industry merely reflects the current state of Western society.
Not everyone has played this. There are the fans who've gotten into anime and/or VNs since it was released. There are those who don't want to fiddle with their machine settings to get fan translations to work. And there are those who just haven't gotten around to it yet.
I hope they will remove the steam in the Blu-Ray version.
we talking about Steam by Valve here ....
Nin, you're a silly bitch.
im a fucking idiot, didnt get the joke at first
tomoyo, best girl.
Truly. Though Sunohara might not agree.
Way to have literally the worst taster you fucking pleb
Official translation? Then they probably fucked it up anyway. Not interested.
Sekai Project did an acceptable job with School Days.
The fan translation was fucking awful and an embarrassment to all involved. This can only be better
Actually, this will also use the fan translation, so yeah, no.
@23:12
STFU Troll. It's fine.
well it's based on doki's tl which is pretty shit to be frank,
But...but...without a release for Kanon, how will I know that Akiko's jam and Sanae's bread are a deadly combination? Lives are at stake here!
That scene is anime only. VN has no jam.
It does have jam, but it's just one scene in the common route.
umm unlike Clannad Kanon is 18+
Clannad all ages http://vndb.org/v4
Kanon SEX !! 18+ http://vndb.org/v33
Well Tomoyo After has Sex Scenes and it's part of Clannad.
There IS an all-ages version of Kanon you know...
I've read the VN and watched the anime but I'm still a bit weirded out by the way Itaru Hinoue does their eyes. It's too shiny.
Also that 3rd Omake pic looks a bit like Fuko also being their daughter even though Tomoya and Fuko are the same age (Nagisa's a year older).
And as there is already a comment about Tomoyo being best girl (go read Tomoyo After already!), I'll say:
Kyou <3
Ushio is the best girl.
What's a "Steam release"?
its something involving a lot of #2 if you know what i mean.
Steam is a game purchase and download program that a lot of gamers use. "Steam release" just means it is going to be sold on Steam for those that use it. If you want to know more about Steam, their website is http://www.steampowered.com [www.steampowered.com]
I tried the link after I posted, and it does not link correctly, you have to type it in manually.
WTF, that's like asking "What's an Xbox release?" or "What's a PS4 release?"
A release on steam, the gaming platform :P
I asked the same but someone deleted my comment, wtf!
A steam release is when you boil a kettle to make tea or coffee, during the boiling process steam is released from the kettle.
