The material from the novel definitely wont last to make more than 4 episodes.

This arc should be over in 4 episodes. Climax very soon. We have 12 episodes, I would assume an episode or two will be for arc transition into Mothers Rosario, so perhaps Alicization may get set up?

One-dimensional? Death Gun happens to be the only Bad ass villian in the entire roster of anime villians this season. His design overall is the best I've seen in ages because of the friggin Darth Vader references. I mean come on, DARTH VADER.
Death Gun isn't badass at all. The people behind Death Gun are butthurt ex laughing coffin members. I won't explain further but none the less their method of killing is cowardly.
