Anime: K-On!
Otanjoubi Omedeto Ricchan ^_^
Happy birthday, Ricchan! Lovely forehead btw.
Just by the character design, I can tell you that I hate this show.
Why? Is it because it doesn't have the swimming sausagefest that you crave on?
That "moeblob" design has no character, no personality, no uniqueness, no style. It's just that... a goddamn blob.
Look at the work of any *good* mangaka... Takehiko Inoue, Leiji Matsumoto, Katsuhiro Otomo, to give just a few examples. In their work, each character's face is unique and expressive. But blobs are not expressive. Blobs have no personality. Blobs are just blobs.
Those artists maybe have like 3 or 4 face types total across all their characters, male or female.
Not a big fan of ritsu how old is she now like 19 or 20 ?
41
College age at last count lol. They did a K-On! College manga.
I forgot to add this, but they could easily base a Season 3 off the College material if they want.
Anime all has to take place in highschool, though.
I love seeing these things. By comparison, I'm still sane.
Ooh, and I see a few wall scrolls of Ritsu I don't have yet!
Happy Birthday Ritsu.
sad the world before me is
#5... that's just creepy.
having some figures is cool, a plush or two but this is clearly a mental illness, I prescribe seppuku.
Exactly. I have NEVER wanted anything in excess to that extent. This is sheer madness.
Seriously, I have invested thousands of Euros in Anime merch but never had the need to buy dozens of shit about one char. These poor fellas must be extremely autistic.
From another point of view we can be happy, they at least support the industry.
" autistic."
You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means...
Then your existence is but a pale shadow of a life. You need not consider seppuku... you're already dead.
It fits with Shinto religion, doesn't it?
Make an effigy and a shrine to something you worship, so it becomes a kami (deity spirit).
It's a lot better than burying a dog and cutting off it's head so it takes revenge for you.
Or putting a soul-sucking doll near the bedside, or giving somebody potted flowers with roots when they're sick, or writing their name in red ink.
I think it's sweet.
Now all we need is Ritsu-Miku murder mystery, with a psycho face and shark teeth that are attached to a belt so they work like saws that carve through the flesh of dreaming otaku.
Oh, sorry. Were you trying to sleep?
probably most normal character in anime history.A type of girl probably you could meet and dumped you in reality.
Why stop there? Make a big deal of her first period and other fictional fantasy events.
Enjoying anime as a form of entertainment or hobby is one thing but this is something else.
This looks like Terrance and Phillip http://images.sankakucomplex.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Ritsu-Birthday-Twitter-6-468x386.jpg
The thing I find remarkable is that the first season of K-on! first aired over half a decade ago.
For what was regarded by many as a generic moe-blob anime, it's had a lot of sticking power.
We otaku being guitarists, bassists, keyboardists & drummers who play rock find K-On! very charming!
but are you insane enough to do some stupid shit like this is the question
It wasn't really very generic. The scenarios were generic that were covered in the show, but anyone who sat silently and let themselves blend into it found something there that really does last. Is it the greatest thing ever? Nope. But it sure was a lasting, memorable moment of seeing characters that didn't seem to be created as an archetype just for the sake of an archetype. They were created for the sake of a personality, which quite honestly was and still is rather rare. Azumanga Daioh was technically the 'first' to pave the way anime-wise, but there is something to be said for quality and time put into it.
I mean seriously... there are fans for the random chicks in the class, who were all unique and placed correctly in space. The one who just sat next to Yui became a favorite. That doesn't really happen by accident or by intention, it just happens.
The thing about the other, "background" girls in the classes were that they were all given names, had specific character designs, and were portrayed accurately and consistently over the course of the show. It's that level of detail and attention that make K-On a joy to watch over and over again (at least for me).
Every time I watch it again, I see something else that I missed before. Usually a character in the background doing something small, but consistent with the main action.
I know there are many who hate K-On, and deride anyone who likes it. I don't care. The only reason I don't have my own shrines like those pictured, to all the K-On characters is a lack of space and the inability to get all those accessories from over here in the benighted land of barbarians.
I'm not saying it's the best anime ever made. I'm only saying I like it.
Dat forehead.
the desperation is real...
Everyone keeps complaining about otaku having the long term mem of a goldfish. Here's truth that's not entirely the case. Go otakee. (I just made the plural definition up on the spot, go mee.)

Wow. K-ON! certainly proved hard to forget. Hell, I still sometimes rewatch certain episodes.
That said...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RICCHAN!!!
Ugh this shit is still in circulation. Never felt the appeal for K-on. Not cute, funny, interesting, moe, etc. And I like those type normally!!!
They want to see Ritsu's chitsu (^o^)v
