“Become My Slave” MILF Guilty of Gang-Raping Schoolboy

A woman who orchestrated the gang-rape and sexual servitude of a schoolboy at the hands of the other boys and girls she kept at her home has been jailed, it also emerging that she ran an unhealthy side business by renting them out to her bar patrons and selling lewd pictures of them online.
According to reports, the then 43-year-old Hyogo prefecture single mother turned her 52-square metre 3LDK apartment into a flophouse of sorts for young runaways and truants, gathered with the help of her 14-year-old daughter skillful LINE usage and funded by generous and apparently fraudulently obtained benefit payments.
This culminated in she and 6 boys and girls aged 14 to 18 living together communally, with the woman as a matriarch who generously provide food and other assistance, but who would also “beat them with a metal bat when angry” whilst having them work in her nearby snack bar whilst continuing to claim benefits.
As yet another side-business to her benefits-scamming she was also said to run a studio where she would take various lascivious pictures of her young tenants and hawk the images on DVD online or to her regulars.
Naturally this also extended to renting out the boys and girls themselves, whether for touching at her bar or for yet more intimate acts at her residence-cum-brothel.
The final addition to her household proved to be its undoing – a third year middle school boy whose efforts to draw close to her daughter ended abruptly with the woman forcing him to strip at knife-point and then demanding he “become my slave,” the boy too frightened to resist.
He was subjected to a “3 hour long ordeal of sexual abuse” at the hands of the group, which she and a 29-year-old accomplice filmed for their later edification.
The woman was charged with indecent assault and producing child pornography, receiving a 7 year prison sentence.
The 29-year-old received a 3 year sentence for his part in all this – and for inducing 4 girls aged 5 to 14 to engage in indecent acts for him to film.
The lurid nature of the case has naturally aroused much hard comment (at least from those reading reports unaccompanied by photos):

stricter punishments for crimes do not further reduce crime rates. if it did, there would be next to no crime wherever the death penalty is legal, but states using the death penalty tend to be high in crime rates. this is because we humans have an incredibly strong optimism bias. we assume good things are more likely to happen to us than they are, and bad things are less likely. this is why people still start smoking today even with all the information on its harms. someone can see a warning on the pack saying "smoking kills", but they internalize it as "smoking kills OTHER people". if you want to prevent crime you need to appeal to a different part of psychology, because we know very well that threats dont work. for example, it has been found that a smiley face above the streets that turns to a frowny face if you are speeding reduces the rates of speeding significantly more than speed cameras that actually carry a real threat of jail time

Partly true, partly not. While the death penalty states do tend to have a higher rate of crime for such crimes that elicited the death penalty as an option it is only by 1-2% so not statistically that big of a difference.
Where I think the Death penalty fails in terms of a deterrent is the way we hide it away and push it off to a closed room with only select people permitted to witness it(usually the victims family and some cops, maybe the person being killed's family). The whole point of such a penalty is that it needs to be public to have any chance of an effect (not stating or debating if such an effect is statistically important or not), but if the general population only thinks of execution by the state as something that supposedly happens, but is never witnessed, then it is a wasted sentence. There is a reason hanging was done in the town square in the old days, it showed anyone thinking of doing something similar is what would happen if they got caught.
But, since today executions are not public, they serve little to no functional purpose as a deterring sentence.
I still think the death sentence has a place, but perhaps it needs to be reserved for the worst of the worst crimes(since there are things considered more vile and heinous than murder) and used in a public execution, not as a deterrent but as a way of saying that such a crime is considered so vile that we don't want to leave such disgusting people alive for a moment longer than we have to.
However, I believe most crimes can now be more effectively handled with other forms of punishment.
If you steal, they cut off your hands.
If you are unfaithful, they cut off your junk.
If you murder, you lose your head.
And if you rape, you are to ingest your own genitals.

the one "good" thing about a death penalty however, is not about its deterrent for others to stop doing something (or its lack of it), but rather that it will make THAT and only THAT person from ever doing it again.
dont know about other countries, but here in Mexico, it often happens that serial kidnappers when caught and put to life sentence, continue leading kidnappings through phone services, either by fake kidnapping or guiding their groups (granted, this is faulty or corrupted prison workers) or they simply escape prison (or bribe their way out) and if they where of the succesful kind of kidnappers, continue doing so again and again until if unlucky caught again, only to repeat the whole process again.
if such kind of people where to die through death penalty, at least THAT and only THAT person wont be kidnapping again (or killing or raping or any other serial type of crimes)

YEAH! Japan needs to crack down on any sex crime. The strictest punishments are always warranted on sex related activities, but manslaughter isn't really all that bad. We all know that any sexual activity that doesn't fit christian morality (especially prostitution) deserves the harshest punishment. (this case is kind of an exception (i.e harsher punishments based on NON sex aspects of this crime), as it involves actual physical abuse, confinement (were the kids free to leave at any time?) and basically pimping.
