With the halfway point of the 2014 anime summer season fans have adjusted their watchlists, showing in the latest ranking that the top shows of the season continue to maintain their strong viewer strength thanks to their numerous fans – and in several cases equally numerous detractors…

Well, sure. Every show will at least have a few fans. And polling 10k peeps, they are bound to find some of them.
So, the higher on the list, the more people will keep watching. The lower on the list, the fewer people are still watching. Those few that aren't on the list, fewer still.

Interesting that Mahouka isn't on that list. I'm still enjoying it quite a bit, even if the arc that just got wrapped up took a bit too long.
Hoping for a second season because I like what I've read of the light novels too.

Heaven's Feel was confirmed as a movie in production on July 27th this year. There's also a series for Unlimited Blade Works covering a different route coming this fall.

If the fact they censored gore ruins the show for you, then it wasn't a good show to begin with.

Not seeing Railwars on the list makes me think there is some hope left in this world.
Aldnoah.Zero had me completely hooked with episodes 1 to 3, slightly disappointed with episode 4, and groaning by episode 5.
aldanoah has impressed me, all episodes, it aint that typical rubbish plot you see in all other animes which the MC Tends to be weak and wins through the so-called POWER OF FRIENDSHIP NONESENCE.
I enjoy the show but the way they made the protag easily defeat the Vers knights was a bit boring. He easily OPed the first two knights. Also hope for the mech fights to be better later on.

1. Overhyped despite being average show. Seriously, people treat this show like it's some instant classic when clearly nothing stands out. Pretty much everything is borrowed from older anime. (Like being trapped in a game, .hack//Sign)
2. Focus of the show is wrong and the writing is just bad. Instead of going the thriller/horror way (people are trapped in machine that can kill them ffs) the show turns into a light-hearted adventure/comedy.
3. The all-mighty protagonist and his harem makes SAO feel like the author's self-masturbatory, self-insertion fantasy.
(Surprisingly few people have a problem with this)
4. Mixing in fetish crap. Yeah, the imouto with a brother complex.
GGO arc doesn't have a harem, so that argument is currently invalid.
