Digimon Adventure Sequel Revealed

News of a sequel being made for kiddy anime classic Digimon Adventure has been unveiled, prompting high acclaim from Digimon fans worldwide – and likely to reignite the mass marketing endeavor that will surely follow the revived children’s series.
The brief trailer revealed near the end of Digimon’s 15th anniversary livestream event:
The sequel is slated to air in April of next year, with more info to be slowly made available through website – though whether this new anime will be a genuine attempt to rekindle the former flames of passion that was the Digimon series or is merely another cash grab scheme is yet to be deciphered.

Nope since they no longer exist , if anyone dubs it, it will most likely be saban though from what I have heard about their dub of xros wars that might not be a good thing.
pretty sad that, to this very day, Digimon STILL has yet to see an even remotely faithful English dub outside of Singapore. Even worse considering that, in this day and age, localizations of most other kids' anime actually bother to stick with the original scripts and soundtracks to some extent.
I don't know, the third season of Digimon seemed like a pretty faithful dub of Tamers.

It won't be easy to revive the spirit of the one and only good Digimon season. Will they target the old crowd in their late 20s or new kids? Hard to do both.

Possible but unlikely, they will leave that to the hentai artists online (serious here).
sora will have nudged pants scenes, mimi will get upskirt shots, and kari will get trapped in a lair full of veggiemon, numemon and vademon.

One and only good Digimon season? Hell no. ALL of them including Digimon Xros Wars were extremely good.
As to the ending of 02 not leaving much room for a sequel, perhaps they will do an 'alterniverse' thing.

Apparently it's going to take place after adventure 02. Tai will be 18 so just about too if not already have left high school. Frankly as long as they change what happens to the characters in the last few minutes of 02 I will be happy. Frankly the whole matt goes into space after marrying sora and tk and kari never getting together really pissed me off.

After thinking about that, I think they may be adapting game version where Ryo is the protagonist who faces Milleniumon. But then, that would ruin all those Digidestined as Ryo did all the hero jobs.... I don't know.
Actually, Ryo only did the 'hero jobs' against the revived Dark Masters/Milleniummon.
The Digidestined still did their thing, it was just that against a Digimon like Milleniummon who could warp time and space and in some ways was more powerful than Apocalymon because of that, they were overmatched.
Ryo, because he was Milleniummon's partner and in some ways, the source of Milleniummon's power? He could face Milleniummon and have a reasonable chance of winning.
Are all those feats or power about Zeedmilleniumon true? I can't find proper translation for brave tamers to determine that. At least around English sites, they claim he is the strongest, but other sites I visited say that all those things are wank.

Yes, Millenniummon, MoonMillenniummon and ZeedMillenniummon all had the ability to warp time.
Millenniummon original used it to bring back the Dark Masters (but not Apocalymon for some reason), MoonMillennium did NOT use his time warping powers to do anything but fought Ryo in a rematch where Ryo was flung through time, and ZeedMillenniummon kept on trying to go to the past to royally mess things up using his time control powers but ENIAC and Atanasoff kept on preventing him from doing that.

On the one hand, I'm hyped and feel nostalgic as fuck.
On the other hand, I'm German. And this simply can't make the right emotional impact if there's no German dub with translated music.

Okay I'm confused. With the way Adventure 02 ended how do they plan on making a legit sequel? Something tells me this is going to be a spinoff story more than an actual true sequel.
Easy: alterni-verse or simply disregarding the Adventure 02 'epilogue' thing.
Seriously, I never understood why they wrapped it up 'nice in a bow' like that. Evil NEVER totally dies as long as human hearts are corruptible. They did not get rid of that at the end of 02 so the 'eternal happy ending' never made sense to me.
judging by this preview, it's looking as though all of 02 might be retconned out of existence. Bit of a shame if that's the case, since the series wasn't all that bad. In fact, I'd be willing to accept everything before that epilogue (that probably even includes that asspull of a final battle).
I for one really hope the second season is retconned.
I never thought the epilogue was bad. It was different but bad? No.
The epilogue wrapped things up too 'nicely' in a bow. Many people who I talked with were annoyed by it because they knew that some Digimon Emperor wannabe would find a partner and the darkness would rise again.
Plus, Demon was not taken care of permanently.
While the second season wasn't a worthy successor to the first, I hope the creators DON'T go the lazy route and just outright retcon it unless they do something intrigue plot wise that ends up erasing the events of Adventure 02 ala X-Men: Days of Future Past.
D-mon never was destroyed, he is still alive in adventure 2, he only was sent to the world of Dracomon.

The Pokémon anime has more than 800 episodes featuring the same main characters.
The Digimon anime has little more tan 300 episodes divided in 5 different series without counting sequels, each one with its own set of main characters.
Actually 6 different series, unless you're counting Adventure 01 and 02 as a single unit.
This series could've been even more successful if it didn't have boring male MCs at all.

maybe it'll be a remake or reimagining of a 2nd season of the first set of main characters, and maybe we can get rid of the god awful 2nd season of digimon and the matt sora bull that happened there
It's a HD-Remake of the Original Series plus an Alternative Universe Story set 3 years after the first series.

I never noticed how bad the localization was on the English one when I was a kid. No more do we have to have sad moments like Sora rooted to the ground and trapped in the world of her mind only to have it ruined by some character saying "It took my whole family to get my grandma off the toilet like that once."
Malay dub was as bad as well... If it's not my obliviousness as a child, I'm sure my ears would have a bad case of haemorrhage.
You maybe should look at the projects Twitter and the english version of the video, they already have merch ready for the relase and they all are still young there BUT they also added another rookie Digimon at the promo artworks so it is likely that it is about another tame when they were teens.

I hate to say it, but Yamato and Sora were hinted in the Japanese version (and eventually the English version followed when it realized that was the actual point). Taichi and Sora were English dub only.
some pretty bad hints, if even the japanese fans, the characters japanese voice actors, etc, didnt even get it.
and having only 1 of its writers have to come out and say that it was "planned", there were "hints", and only "some people" knew, i call bull on that, it just means they failed royally.
even to this day the tai/sora pairing is the most popular one by japanese and western fans, the amount of fanart, shows this, even the first movie that had minimal involvement of the "writers", showed what the general impression people had of that whole pairings thing
Actually, if you watched the show Taichi clearly doesn't show interest in Sora, it's all one way. Sora goes through some of the same problems Yamato does, such as the two for them both get stuck into the tunnel of darkness due to insecurities about their crests.
The hints were there, and I can find NO evidence that the original seiyuu thought anything more than, "oh, OK."
Further, the fujoshi make most of the fanart so if you're going to use that the Taichi/Yamato would be BY FAR the most supported pairing.
