Oh look, a list...
it aint sancom without lists.
No Game No Life placed 1st.
This list is valid
Love Live placed 2nd.
The list is shit.
One day I am going to see Magipoka season two and spice and wolf season three on one of these lists.
I would do unspeakable things for a third season of Spice & Wolf.
As would I for Magical Pokaan Season 2.
A wild list has appeared!
Every compliant of ngnl over poweredness could be applied to batman. Batman is awesome so please stfu.
Batman had his back broken once, leaving him utterly defeated. He also "died." "Blank never loses!" Now you STFU.
Ping pong is probably the best, they made it to tell a story, not to sell.
Picture is hot
I can't believe that Wixoss is not on the list!
Out of the 20. I only like 1. 15. and 19.
I can say I actually liked Spring. Of late I have grown to despise anime pretty heartily, but this past season was pretty good.
For me I like #1, #9, #10 (Though it is really dragging on, honestly they could accomplish more each episode. Though I admit the Plot Armor is pretty hilariously overblown at times.), #14, #15, #19
And I guess #8 since it is a catch all and they didn't list Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou which I thought was really great.
Bla bla bla
Is only more a list by posers
Late list is late
Ping pong deserves more credit but then again not many would expect much out of that style after that last rotoshopped series.
And NO LO for #1 Agreed
Knights of Sidonia did good considering it's awkward CGI (for the humans, the space mech scenes were glorious). I expect season 2 to do even better with Tsumugi's arrival.
What no Fairy Tail?!
You misspelled Captain Earth
This is pretty much the shittiest list i have EVER seen posted here. the only good anime int eh top 10 is Sidonia.
Ping Pong, Jojo,Sould eater Not, Mekaku City Actors, and Gochuumon should not be ANYWHERE near this list.
Soul Eater Not is a niche series. It has nowhere near the popularity of Soul Eater, also the manga and anime came years too late. They should have done a Soul Eater remake instead.
Adding to this, the Blu Ray is currently ranked 1,120 in the best sellers on Amazon Japan, a mere 2 days before release. It's safe to say the sales will be shit. For reference NGNL broke the top 10 on Amazon Japan.
"Oh my personal favorites didn't make the top of the list so it's complete bullshit"
Get over yourself idiot.
Everyone got their own opinion. Chill, its not the end of the world.
Yet you accept loli pandering Black Bullet. Seriously nice try though.
I still can't understand how come No Game No Life made such success, the whole setting and purpose of a world based on games was cool, but the main characters and their Deus ex machina antics took nearly all the excitment of seeing those ''games'' happening, what is the point of seeing these matches happening if you know they will win without much effort anyway?
Overpowered characters are not bad, but at least put some things in doubt to make such characters suffer a little and make them at least look like they could lose like Sword Art Online and .hack did it before. Put some things in perspective outside and make people believe the characters are human and not gods.
Anyway, at least is nice to see a fellow brazilian doing well in Japan. I believe this is the first time a japanese work created by a foreign end up so high on these rankings.
NGNL Popularity explained.
Shiro, Izuna.
That is all.
Seconded!
Honestly i like how the plot was creative and well done. Pretty thoughtful of their messages. For example, sora talked about man being not able to fly. And how the king in chess isnt the most powerful piece but rather the most important.
What makes NGNL good isn't the overall plot of them winning all the games, but the humor. It was funny watching and even caused me to laugh out loud a few times, something that few recent series have managed.
Also, the main chars in NGNL aren't overpowered, it's actually the opposite - the "only" skills the main chars of NGNL have is being very good at games, primarily intelligence, knowledge and tactical sense, and to some degree hand/eye coordination.
Meanwhile they are going against enemies that are in theory way stronger because they are "cheating", ie. using stuff like magic, superior tech, or have superior "beast" physique/senses.
Of course everyone knows that the main chars will win, but that just mean NGNL is similar to 99.9% of all other anime. What still makes the story interesting is HOW they will win - going up against magic, or godlike creatures, or high tech beast-men, armed only with their wit and skills.
Sums up my thoughts on the series perfectly!
The effort you speak about already happened, and we are witnessing what it can empower the two to accomplish. The perspective isn't on a random pair of players, but on the role that these two happened to select themselves into.
The series just skips to the solo.
The lead character states himself...if they lose once, it's game over. There are no redo's. There is no try again.
it's win, or get off the pot...for good. If you can't wrap your head around that, after being told it explicitly...then you will never "get" the show, and you might as well stop watching.
The mc will win every match...because they have to. It's not will they or will they not...but how they win, and what happens while they win.
It's just how it is
NGNL Popularity explained: Stephs Tits, Shiro, Izuna. Now take Shiro and Izuna who have been partially or completely nude and you have the perfect anime.
You haven't watch the anime quite carefully, he makes alot of mistakes that breaks the rule. IN the Jibril match Alpha and Omega, he says Columbs Force as a saying. Scientist will say theories are not actual things so he used a concept which Jibril knows he broke the rules. However as stated by Rule 6 or whatever the person must call the rule breaking like in real life.
Imagine its a card game and the umpire is not there and you let the rule infraction go by. If you allow to pass without calling the umpire it's your fault. Play a card tournament and you'll understand this anime better.
WTF rule 6 only states all bet is upheld no matter what. Jibril match was called materialization shiritori."Sora noted that words which are non-imaginary but the opponent does not know of can also be used"(the fact of why he told Jibril she's empty headed/ignorant. Jibril doesnt even know what Coulombs Force which is related to Coulombs LAW not THEORY). You can search the difference between a law and theory on ur own time. Plus Coulombs Force isnt an imaginary word.
ALSO,three things invoke game loss: using a word that has already been used, failing to answer for 30 seconds, or being unable to continue the game.Watch the anime CAREFULLY and you'll understand how to play better....dumbass
Yeah, but - more importantly, nothing seemed to lyse, denaturate, implode or appear to be affected by that change.
That's what makes most stories that could be good into mediocre ones. Trying to satisfy ones like you. I am glad Mondaiji did not do it, I hate NGNL for trying sometimes. Some people (like me) want at least sometimes to see stories about protagonists nt "hardly beating every obstacle in their way, seeming to be losing", but "ridiculously crushing every obstacle on their way". No, really, almost every other anime is ruined by "uh, look, our characters are in pinch! they will lose! sure they will! you do believe that, right?". No, we don't believe in that, and that makes it look stupid, retarded and boring over time. If you want to make it believable, make characters actually lose every once in a while, and lose hard. Like Kaiji did. Otherways, don't do it.
I agree that its boring watching the protag win all the time. What i hate the most is how the protag are losing(mostly in action animes) in a obviously one sided match but suddenly wins. Most of the fairy tail fight are like that now and many animes too. Its not an even fight where both sides are doing heavy damage and receiving them damage.
"OH no Goku is about to be defeated by {insert bad guy that has been on tV for three weeks} - oh no suddenly Goku pulls a win out of his ass because he believes in himself and kamehameha's {bad guy's name}
we all know that Goku is going to win but we still watch. So if Sora and Shiro aren't about to loose but we know they will win we should not watch because whats the point?
its fun to see the underdog pull a win even. because if goku or Sora lost the show would end? Guess we should stop watching any show where the good guy looses and the show ends on episode two.
The MC makes alot of rules infractions if you watch the anime carefully.
LN or anime writers don't have the same writing skill level as more famous novelists. It's as simple as that.
Write simple stories so that every viewer, regardless of intelligence, can understand it.
But there's also another term for that: "lowest common denominator" and that's what also kills anime stories. Flat, low dimensional characters (both good and bad) and universe bending so that it will revolve around those characters. It's not a great recipe for any that can be thrilling, intelligent while also being entertaining.
You have to play an actual games tournament in real life to understand this anime.
If you don't then you'll have no chance.
WTF does actual games tournament has to do with this anime. Anime defies all logic of real life especially when the anime is a fantasy genre. If u want real life shit go watch dramas or slice of life.
SAO? Gary Stu Kirito actually losing?
Hahahaha, no.
In EVERY show, in ANY way, the good guy will ALWAYS win. Even if the MC dies, you know he'll be back. There is no such thing as an MC who isn't immortal in story telling.
Ahem.
Gurren Lagaan.
Code Geass (though I think it can be debatable since there are ppl who says he's dead while other blieves he's alive).
Valvrave(every guy who rode a valvrave died "honorably" but honestly i think they died pretty lame).
yet another season of shit ill never bother watching.
