Sony has released its periodic statistics for the top anime viewed with its Torne and Nasne platforms, providing further insight into the most popular shows of the summer (or at least those available there and of interest to its users) – and showing that even the sexiest and most rotten of shows have taken a backseat to the unsurprising dominance of Sword Art Online 2.

Aldnoah Zero should be number one, not Shit Art Online.
Give it the three episode treatment, espevially those of you who've been complaining about beta MC's.
I'm not overly impressed by SAO2 as it stands, it just feels like the first with a new paintjob, i'll keep watching it for now but unless it picks up its going on the drop list
It will pick up over the next few episodes when it switches to Kirito's adventures in GGO, and then slows down back to the current pace with Sinon's emo-ing halfway through the BOB tournament. After which it will pick up again towards the climax.

Aldnoah Zero is starting to get a bit Guilty Crown-ish. Hopefully it won't turn that way, especially after that last scene on episode 3
God I hope not, Guilty Crown was a mish mash of ideas that never panned out to anything with substance.
Great OP/ED's, Great character animations/drawings, decent soundtrack, shitty insert themes (especially the last episodes theme during that stupid ass dance,) ajnd overall a plot that couldn't tell heads,tails or ass-backwards what it wanted to do with it's plot.
Beautiful animations for such a below par show.
It's like buying a Faberge egg and expecting it to do shit when all you can use it for is a nice decoration in your living room.
i really like the new SAO up until this point. the animation seems a bit more high quality and the story is also good (so far).

Now you know that ppl who use "Torne and Nasne platforms," whatever these are are, prefer hype over substance.
Had Aldnoah Zero been #1 on that list, it'll mean you have something in common with these ppl.
I loved the first season of SAO, but GGO is nothing but disappointment for now. You really have to be blinded by the hype not to notice it's mediocracy. It being the best series of the summer is a Joke, a really bad one.
Terror in Tokyo's position is also thanks to it's director, so far the series has shown nothing noteworthy.
Ghoul and Aldnoah has the potential to be great, but RailWars is just a mindless fanservice show.
It's a pretty good season, which makes SAO2's top position even more unlikely.
ghoul sucks, too many censorships and manga cuts.
Aldnoah 3 episodes in has yet to show anything good(veteran soldiers must be blind to not see all that shit in the sky)
Tokyo esp is shit itself when compared to manga.
SAO2 is going with a good rythm considering this is what you fuckers wanted, a slow and steady characterization.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
As someone who's read the light novels of SAO... Only the first season was really worth watching, the rest is subpar in comparison, unless you like the "world" of that series. It gets better later on, but it would required at least 2 more anime seasons to get there, so that ain't happening, the popularity of the show will most likely hit a all time low with this current season, thus cancelling any further plans of making another season.
The best part of SAO was the first 16-ish episodes, while they were still in Aincrad. Anything after is kinda take it or leave it.

Here's a better question; what has SOA2 done to deserve being #1? If you look at the series airing on a comparative 2-3 episode basis, SOA2 has done little of interest to make it a #1 spot contender...
It's because the fans like the series itself. Most probably the season 2 itself doesn't have anything to do with the popularity.
