Touhou Otaku “Threatened To Burn Seiyuu Alive”

A Touhou otaku has been arrested for threatening to pour kerosene on a young woman who’s voice work in a doujin video apparently did not meet the standards and style he expected of Reimu-portrayal.
The 26-year-old Aichi prefecture NEET made a series of posts to 2ch in which he threatened by name a 22-year-old part-time seiyuu, saying he would “douse her in kerosene and watch her fry.”
His anger apparently stemmed from the amateur voice work she did for a MikuMiku Dance level CG video posted on NicoNico Douga.
In other posts he made he said she “has totally damaged the character” and “deserves divine retribution,” and seems to have been behind a one-man campaign to defame her and leak her personal information as widely as possible.
He admits the offence, and now faces charges of intimidation.
The case also seems to highlight 2ch’s smoothly operating conveyor belt running from otaku bedrooms to police cells – a post made late in the afternoon of the 14th saw him locked up and national news by the morning of the 16th.

GTS has been a standard quote denotation since the days of newsgroups. Decades later emails are still coded to quote with greater-than-symbols appended. I hope you don't credit twitter with the above addressee line, either.
On the other hand GP post was also doing that tired, inarticulate bullet shit.
He totally forgot to hide behind 7 proxies. What a noob.
You are speaking entry level proxies, my friend. You don't have very much faith in the younger crowd!
He also forgot to get the help of Wizard Aliens who would have given him an 8th proxy, a proxy of such power he'll never be traced.
he forgot to cover or hide his face with a mask while posting his messages.
He forgot to use TOR.
her voice just doesn't fit reimu BUT! she is good and can work with other characters
Can't stand her for more than a minute. Her voice is very annoying.
No she's not. She does not know what "diction" means and her acting is absolutely monotone, just trying to cram as many lines as possible in the minimum time possible. But her voice is not bad, I'd send her back to seiyuu school and give her a narration course and then she probably could land some pro level jobs...
Yeah... It's certain pretty terrible work on Reimu...
Then again, the only other time I heard Reimu was when she's voiced by Nakahara Mai...
I was actually hoping the headline was about Mai Nakahara, as I really can't stand her voice, especially when she starts getting all screaming and screechy, which she does in every role she plays. Fingernails on a chalkboard.
I wouldn't go so far as to start threatening to burn anybody alive, though. Just downvote the video and move on with your life, buddy.
He would've then fucked her corpse.
Because it's tradition in Japan!
What, you saying you wouldn't fuck a corpse if you found one?
Come on...
He is a closet necrophile.
Couldn't he just leave a "wow what a shitty voice job" like the rest of us?
Incidentally, I'll have to remember this for the Social Justice Blogger types who think critique and cynicism are srs busns.
YOUR DISPARAGING REMARK ON MY (FAUX) OC IS OPPRESSING ME
Maybe all that KNN Aneki stuff on Nico got into his head.
KNN Aneki has become some sort of a minor meme on Nico ever since the hilariously bad doujin voice work were featured as the voice track for some guy's MMD animation, which was no doubt made in the spirit of mocking the voice actresses. It has reached a point where many videos featuring Reimu had tags 'KNN Aneki', much in the same vein as Marisa and 'Ma-su Aneki'.
Maybe he got sick and tired of seeing those people mocking his favorite character in such a way. In that respect, Americans ain't that much better either. Didn't Ben Affleck get death threats too for playing upcoming Batman movie?
It' wasn't that bad though I think her voice would be a better fit for Marisa.
Okay, I can accept his feeling, but not his action.
Patience is must.
What, like, wait for a better time to make the threats? Where does patience come in?
indeed, you can simply say I don't like the voice acting, and try to find and alternative, like reading subtitles instead.
-Where does patience come in?
Maybe in waiting for a better dub?
heh. Reminds me of how alot of people dont enjoy englished dubbed media. Not every voice actor is good or bad, it doesn't give the right to harass them, despite our own preference.
indeed, you can simply say I don't like the voice acting, and try to find and alternative, like reading subtitles instead.
He was retard anyway.
Making treats because you don't like some video?
Making treats while looking like you mean it?
Making treats on 2ch?
Making treats while posting from your real IP
Making treats so soon after that shit with AKB?
He deserve every single year in prison he will get.
I'll assume that you really meant treats since you said it five times in the same post. I personally love treats.
I love treats.
I'd like a treat.
what a treat
he must be a very good guy to make treats for everything he hates
Everybody loves cake.
isn't it means freedom of expression?
Treat level is over 9000!
i dont understand.
why is it even a problem when it isnt even canon to begin with?
I am a proud Touhou fan and this guy is a complete retard! Lock him in jail and throw away the key.
P.S. I agree her voice is nowhere fit to the character (she also speaks "da ze", is it a parody?), but this is no excuse for threatening the poor girl.
AHHHH KIMOCHI II YO
such a sleazeball should rot in a cell. what kind of
damaged mind can think such a stupidity is necessary just because he disliked the seiyuu's performance?
really it takes a severely damaged and traumatized
mind.
Wait a second... making empty threats on the internet is a criminal offense now? That opens doors to a lot of arrests...
Making threats is considered a criminal offense in many countries, no matter if you do it with a lettter, a phone call, the internet, etc...
Isn't this restricted to actual threats to the person in question instead of just crying in some back alley that you will kill your boss or something?
Well it's more like threatening a person in a busy public square for all to hear as it's on a public board. But regardless of where you do it, it is indeed illegal in most countries and is a criminal offence that can land you in jail.
Yes, it is. Mostly because you never know whether it's a joke or not, and seeing how “safe” personal data is nowadays that's a reason enough to treat it seriously.
It still blows because you have to watch what you say ... .
It blows because it is an affront to artistic license.
Writing you, or calling you to tell you I'm going to burn you alive is a threat. Commenting in a video that you deserve to be set on fire for your terrible performance is just hyperbole and creative language.
I don't have to watch what I say, since I would never threaten anyone. Kill them or don't, threatening is for cowards.
It's also part of normal swearing where I live.
