most people are perplexed to see colorful robots; too childish they say. seriously, these stereotyping people missed alot in their life.

will be over in 12 eps and calling it truthfull to the LN...meeeh could be closer in alot of aspects and feels rushed when they cut some little elements, overall its close but could be better, doesnt come close to the LN but voicing is great.

sadly most anime never actually finish. The light novel/manga usually goes far beyond the show. It makes me qq inside every time
Actually, ANIME does finish. Thee manga/light novels are different. I think you mean the Story never finishes, cuz the story of whatever world the manga/aime takes place in continues in the original source, but as long as the anime stops airing and no sequels are announced, the anime is finished.
I usually agree with these lists to some degree but more than half of this list is bullshit...

Angle Beats? You guys nuts or what? The anime's plot got bigger hole that the one titanic got from that iceberg. The story's only good (and makes sense) if one goes through ALL of the side materials; which in no way I'll recommend them to someone who hasn't watched it (good chance they'll lose interest instead from having to refer to those other materials just to get the story). The only thing Angel Beats anime got it good is the fact everyone vanish in the end, which is a good tearjerker moment.
I have a personal friend who watched Angel Beats VERY early in his anime career. It was one of his first. He loves it to death and has watched it probably 5 times in like a month.

I'll at least put Gintama at 3 and Code geass at 2 though. An anti-war anime with huge amount of twists makes much more sense to recommend to others than a mahou fucking shoujo anime which only strong point, is the gore and violence on girls.

what a BS list. pretty much half of the listed stuff got side story materials to them. definitely not something i'd recommend to someone, unless i want to force feed them things they don;t want to swallow.
This list actually seems kind of decent. I'm pleasantly surprised there's a lot of good stuff on there.

prob about 7 of these are worth watching, or a definite recommendation; this type B moeblob kyoani stuff is hardly worth recommending to anyone, some of it is also just decent but popular. I've watched like 110 animes and i gotta say most shows are good but not worth recommending unless you wanna watch it just because its popular.
True, I see ~8 worth recommending. I've completed ~700 titles and maybe 5-10% of those could be used to introduce someone to anime. Recently I'm happy if there is even one or two such shows per year.
Yeah, anime keeps getting nerdier and nerdier, having lots of inside jokes etc.

While some of these are ok shows. They aren't shows I'd try to use to pitch anime to people that have never seen it. Move some of the moeblob shows off and replace them with stuff like Monster, Ghost in the Shell, CBebop, etc.

MLP isn't a Japanese anime..? It was made in US 1st, then got a Japanese dub later, didn't it?
I am surprised that your recommendations didn't include Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, Outlaw Star, Tenchi Muyo, and the first Full Metal Alchemist given that you would recommend GitS and Cowboy Bebop.

Except most of those shows are crap, so I wouldn't have included them. If I had to continue that list, Eden of the East, Dennou Coil, Noein, Speed Grapher, Durarara!.
