The latest survey of which anime titles fans would most recommend to others has surprisingly proven to be more than just a popularity contest for the last 2 seasons, with the top results dominated by shows known for their fine story above all – and coupled with the fact that the majority of voters were male, it may even be safe to say that even male otaku do indeed care about more than just blatant fanservice.

AB! and madoka? are you kidding me? they dont belong to this list.
There are two kinds of recommendations for anime.
First is based on story, amount of laugh(comedy), art quality, action, or just overall enjoyment of the anime.
Second is based on fanservice, big racks, and/or “They have cute girls”.
I still cannot see the point with the second one.
Haruhi where???
Aka, another list of the most confusingly over-popular anime in recent years. I don’t understand why people loved AnoHana so much, it was an alright anime, but it wasn’t THAT good. I’ve cried watching anime before, AnoHana didn’t make me feel all too much at all. I guess that’s since she was already dead, so it’s not like a character dying twice really feels as bad as a character actually dying. Not to mention most of the characters in that show were annoying and wishy-washy.
Angel Beats as well, it was pretty good; just not amazing.
Madoka I can somewhat understand, since it has a particular atmosphere about it you can’t find anywhere else. The remainder are either fujoshi stuff, decent anime, or Toradora, which I am glad as hell isn’t higher. That anime really wasn’t that great.
I dont usually recommend anime, but when i do…Death Note is usually there.
