China’s Beaches More Glorious Than Ever

The state of China’s beautiful tropical beaches after a popular holiday has been attracting much attention in China and beyond – most of it less than favourable it would seem.
The aftermath of the “Dragon Boat Festival” left a Shenzhen beach in such a shambles that the international media soon picked it up:
In their defence, in between holidays, algal blooms and large crowds the beaches are said to be in better condition, though the same probably cannot be said of the surrounding sea and sky.

But for me it's a very good representation of my life.
This is what a large crowd leaves behind in any country. Surprisingly China has plenty of people, therefore plenty of large crowds.

Man, I know what downtown in my city looks like after a friday night: wall to wall homo sapiens detritus. This is far more true when there's some kind of a large happening going on, or maybe several as with the yearly arts festival all across the center.
The city I'm talking about has half a million people, civilized as you get in the high-tech high-living standard parts of Europe. But when a few thousand people move through the center and half of them buy something off the McD's and Chillis and whatever, the public trashcans simply cannot hold it all in. So onto the streets it goes.
It's totally disgusting, but you'd need to have an existing prejudice to tar everyone involved with a "no manners at all, arr rook same" brush.

Typical Chinese lack of regard for anything concerning their image or state of their environment is truly astonishing. Look at all those beach-goers lounging around like it's business as usual or it's none of their concern. And no one doing anything to clean up after their own mess. The filth and litter from the streets is now on their beach. And getting washed away into the ocean.

Typical fucking Chinese. I always used to think "it's probably not actually that bad everywhere" until an actual Chinese person confirmed that they actually do prefer to kill a toddler over merely injuring it in traffic, because it will cost them less money.
