When it says Sword Art Online, is that just referring to the first volume, or is that all of them together?
Likely this is in reference to them as a whole, combined sales of the fourteen or so volumes. Likely doesn't include the Progressive arc volumes though.
Ah I see. Ok then. Also yeah I saw the progressive arc had it's own section thing. That's interesting.
by the way, that fanart of mikasa showing her delicious armpit was made by the great artist namaniku ATK
and believe it or not he was hired to make the end cart from episode 17 at the end of the last promotion credits
http://cs.sankakucomplex.com/data/72/10/7210eb191a4194e9e07880acfcdea3d6.jpg?3586295
and he also made some hot hentai-fanart and doujins of the show as well
Kagerou Pro, Mahouka, and SAO, why am I not surprised? These japanese otaku are no better than gaijin beta fags.
bleach out, ansatsu kyoushitsu in? humanity still have hope
feels good to see bleach no longer in there.
dont get me wrong, i read it every week, but now its just for the sake of finishing what i started, even if its a total bull
naruto and one piece is still up there... so there's only some hope left
At least Naruto doesn't feel like it could've been done in 4> pages per chapter the way Bleach has done for the past 30+ chapters, and there's some imagination to the drawing.
The Madara fight has been going on since before Christmas in manga form hasn't it? Must be like 6+ months of weekly chapters of this shit lol. At least the author has finally advanced his story with the recent chapter, I do think he's close to wrapping it.
I'm sure people have been saying that since December :P
Bleach = extending a chapter to stretch a span of 8 more chapters, possibly best dramatization ever after Dragon Ball anime and One-Punch Man. And yeah, the protag's also given steroids and miracle cures to make him grow infinitely powerful despite almost losing, and actually losing his power at a number of points in the story; even anger and love is not that effective, right, Goku?
Naruto = Forcibly stuffing a massive number of additional plotlines in what's called the 'final arc', which is blatantly similar to the act of producing foie gras; sure the thing tastes delicious but what actually they do to the ducks to produce such succulent fatty liver?:- read Naruto's 'Final Arc' to get a picture of it!
The only problem I see with overpowering Naruto and Sasuke to the degree the author has done, is simply that it would make it extremely difficult to add a new antagonist after Madara, because lets be honest here, if you've beaten what they're up against, nothing would compare. It's a shame because had the author not done this, he could have kept the Naruto manga going for a lot longer, perhaps even with another timeskip. Now it seems it'll likely be Madara and done.
People lost interest in Bleach as it no longer has an anime, the excitement is gone for many. Studio Pierrot need to bring it back in 26 episode chunks with no filler. I bet you could complete the final arc in 2 full seasons if you up the pace.
No Log Horizon or Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon? Shameful list as usual Japan.
Lol, i laugh at your choice of "popular titles". As a person in japan, those arnt even in the osusume sections at bookstores.
But those 2 titles are great. Not being popular doesn't determine whether it's good or bad anyway.
Log Horizon is quite a niche light novel series when you compare sales to SAOs.
The anime sales were average for Log Horizon too, I'm just greatful to whoever greenlit a season 2. Hopefully the author wraps his story up so we get a complete adaption. Can't see us getting a Season 3 of Log Horizon, very few shows get third seasons these days. Hoping Infinite Stratos with its insane sales breaks the curse though.
log horizon season 2 was announced at the end of the last episode in season 1.
Ah yes, hopefully they keep the same level of animation for Season 2 as well. I liked how the fight scenes were a lot more detailed/fluid than Sword Art Onlines. A clear indication of a good studio with a decent budget. I hated the cost cutting measures in a lot of SAOs fight scenes.
I like both SAO and Log Horizon A LOT. But, I enjoyed them each in their own way. I enjoyed the way SAO did their thing and enjoyed how Log horizon did their own thing.
to me it feels like SAO = more romance/action
and Log horizon = action/Super badazz main char who's also smart/plot
That's what I feel about them in a general way. Kinda.. something like dat.
I agree, also I liked how Shiro isn't really heroic in virtue. The use of intelligence above brute strength in a lot of cases was a highpoint of his character. Also I had to laugh at how he basically black mailed some of the guilds to form the roundtable, he did it for the greater good but it says a lot about his character, he doesn't mess about.
yeah lol. He's pretty awesome.
SAO (with badly made harem and more crap (who is mostly kirito)) is for casuals, Log Horizon (about a world with game mechanics) is for elites;<
says the gaytard
Kyoukai senjou horizon is a huge amount of text, which can turn people off.
Would of thought mahouka would be #1, all the stores have a giant section devoted to it. Melonbooks, animate, etc.
it's different beeing in top for 1 year and in top for many years. Obviously, stores will invest more in what mantained high sales for longer time.
SAO was the top in sales for some time, then mahouka taked the spot, and this configuration (mahouka in n°1 and SAO in n°3) stayed for 3 years already.
Making a quick comparision...what whould have a section devoted to it in bigger stores, gundam or shigeki?
Isayama coming at you, Oda.
What a disappointment. SnK is overhyped mediocrity and the art is ridiculously bad for something thats officially published. Say what you will about whether or not you like One Piece's style, but Oda is definitely more skilled, and his art doesnt tend to look like he scrawled it out in five minutes most of the time.
Isayama is SnK manga's artist? and Oda is One Piece manga/light novel thingy's artist? or am I misunderstanding something?
btw i'm not anon 20:36. im my own self. just saying in case u think i'm dat anon.
I agree. Oda's style is quite atypical to the style usually seen in manga, and while he's no Takeshi Obata or Takehiko Inoue, his artwork is consistent, and polished. And One Piece is aimed at kids, so do people honestly expect him to draw something that looks like Fist of the North Star for such an audience?
Shingeki no Kyojin's artwork, on the other hand, literally looks like something a little kid would have drawn. While I understand that the mangaka that creates this is relatively young, and that this is his first work, for a title held in such high regard for both its story and its artwork, it doesn't seem to meet even the most relaxed standards for being good in either department.
It might be popular to the point of ubiquity at the moment, but then again, so was the Twilight series, and Shingeki no Kyojin is equally as overhyped, with about as much merit.
Story > Art
At least SnK's doesn't have their female character's chest inflate to ridiculous sizes.
Too bad the story of SnK has been going rapidly downhill since chapter 40 or so.
Yeah. Pretty funny how Robin and Nami have done absolutely nothing lately. But it's okay. They've got big tits.
SnK somehow become a story of political pow-wow instead of a story of Eren Jaeger's exploits to ultimately beat the hell out of all living titans.
Lol? Oda has been at the top for years. Not sure how you are even beginning to compare the two.
Just here for the fine ass picture. Ciao.
What? That is clearly a fine breast picture! Don't you lie to us!
generous, delicious oppai in a tight white top... few things in life are finer than that!
Ie, pettanko is finer than that!
you mean, no semblance of oppai to even speak of? nope...
Kagerou Daze? that is essentially Mekakucity Actors isn't it?
I think soh.
i'm happy to see the Oregairu got 5th of the light novel ranking.and 2 season anime of Oregairu is coming soon.
only manga im keeping up with right now are kenichi, prison school, and triage x... i cant be the only one...?
Touman occupying two places of the top ten is the best part of the charts.
Shhh.... Fellow dweller of the TAMNI universe. We musnt reveal the awesomeness of the TouMan to these fragile followers of brittle anime, we wouldnt want to break that illusion of theirs, now would we
Worth reading the mahouka novels if I think the anime is overrated and extremely unoriginal?
Yup. I LOVE the Mahouka novels...
The anime can eat shit.
I do not get why SAO is ahead from Index. It is good but not that good
Sword Art Online is ahead of Index because its getting a second season, people tend to gravitate towards the popular stuff that has an anime too and is recent. While Index is hugely popular, you won't see it overtaking SAO until they finally announce a Season 3 of Index.
If they announce a season 3. that is.
