Top 10 Spring 2014 Anime “According To Girls”

With the spring’s anime half finished, further efforts to rankify them are underway – and this time with over half the voters being women, it comes as no surprise that the top spot is held by the fiendish male-centric soccer anime Haikyu, the latest in Shonen Jump’s long line of healthy boy-on-boy fujoshi blockbusters…
The ranking, based on Japanese music site RecoChoco’s less than otaku-centric userbase – and with 58.7% of the voters female and 40% under 20, it not wholly surprising that over 90% of the top spot’s votes came from women as well:

JoJo has always been a Fujoshi series, and they up the amount of homoerotic shipping greatly in the anime.

Jojo was in the top five on both male and female most anticipated lists as well. It's greatness transcends the usual gender biased marketing and appeals to batshit crazy people of both genders.

Fujoshi lists are super biased. The anime doesn't need to be good for it to make the list as long as it's got their bishi's, and all the right kinds of fan service.
Otaku tend to have fan service animes as well on their lists but you'll often have a lot of animes without fan service, or even rare sighting's of female characters. So it's kind of obvious why "insecure boys" makes no sense. Insecurity would mean they feel threatened by other males yet they usually have shounen anime on their lists that have a lot of male characters who are well toned or "manly". The animes on Otaku's lists tend to be more honest about how good it is as well. Change the word to something else, and it might make sense to name the male list similarly but let's be real... Fujoshi are called rotten girls for a reason. They are annoying, overhypers, and rabid... Literally rabid. Don't ever tell one that you dislike yaoi because it will mean you just started a war with them, or suddenly are no longer their friend. Tell an Otaku you don't like fanservice, or yuri. Guess what? That's the end of the topic. He won't care if you don't like something.
TL:DR I agree with OP that it should be renamed. I disagree with the "Insacure" anon. That makes no sense.

Is more surprising that Love Live made it to the top 10 imo, I thought it was more of a bishoujo than shoujo, I like it anyway so I don't mind at all.

You might want to check out more anime from the 1980s and early 1990s.. when surfing was still cool.
