The Elfen Lied manga has all kinds of sadomasochistic torture in it, and attempted rape scenes. And there's one that kills girls and keeps the body in a refrigerator he carries around so he can rape their corpse again whenever. The manga was all kinds of fucked up, way more than the shitty animu adaptation.
WTF ? i watched the anime years ago and read the last couple chapters of the manga. I don't remember that in the anime i know the manga is darker but WTF rely it was that f**up ? i am sorry to say this but that is only for desensitized persons and the writer sanity should be quation.
Nips doesn't make a series sexy. This series is far more sexy than Elfen Lied. Just hope we dont go into a depressing spiral towards the end :(
The anime is a bit worse than the manga in explaining certain circumstances behind the characters' decisions, or the happenings in general. And these are bits of a few words or sentences each, they wouldn't tax the pacing of the story much.

I like sexy & all, but sometimes I feel like they're over-doing it in anime. Eventually, it'll get to the point where studios will purposefully go anti-sexy to hit the "we're kinda bored with sexy" demographic. Then things will spiral out of control & we'll lose our sexy forever :( Think of the children(who won't get to grow up with classy sexy because of that)
You don't have to embrace the antithesis if you want diversion, you just need something different. By the way, that's what Kyo-Ani's been doing for a while. Their characters are stylized rather than superlative in terms of appeal, but it doesn't mean they don't have their more carefully developed representatives.
