The latest manga to find itself inexplicably the subject of a live action adaptation is none other than Shonen Jump’s aspiring mangaka title Bakuman.
Takeru Sato and Ryunosuke Kamiki will be playing the protagonists, and the film will be directed by Hitoshi Ohne, whose tiny movie experience (“Moteki” and “Koi no Uzu”) is dwarfed by the vast output of TV drama he has put his name to.
Bakuman mangaka Takeshi Obata’s unexciting response to the news:
“I’m very happy about the movie adaptation. I was able to pen the manga which is to appear in it, so as someone a involved a little in the production as well as the creator of the original I’m looking forward to seeing what it is like.”
The Bakuman movie is due in 2015.

This is something I can see working.
same I think it is possible since the story is closest to the reality
unlike other adaptation, I have high hope for this one
Japan isn't very good with close to real life movie. I image nothing but eeeeeeeeeeeeeedhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! every 5 five mins
Why the hell can't they at least have the right hair colors for these movies? They never bother following through on it..
Have you ever seen a naturally blond Japanese person?
Ever heard of hairdye? In case you didnt notice - they dyed his hair, but brown instead of blond.
I like soft boiled eggs.
I guess they never have, hurr durr....
Brown shades look a lot better in Asians than that light ash blond color he has in the manga.
Because sometimes anime hair color clashes a lot when you translate to real people/actors. That super blond he originally usually looks a bit bad in an Asian, brown implies he bleaches his hair without looking too exaggerated and making it an eye sore.
Hardly. The issue probably resembles the tattoo one instead.
Well, every Anime has gone through a process called character design and color design. This is why in some Anime titles, the characters look vastly different from their Manga counterparts. Of course the colors chosen more or less resemble those you saw on color pages of the original Manga but still with some changes.
Say, if a certain Anime title has a second season but is produced by different studio, there are bound to be some diverse in the picking and usage of colors. So we can't really say they aren't following the original work.
Only if the actor plying Kaya Miyoshi has a large rack, for.....consistency.....yes...
Sadly she didnt got enough attentions in doujinshis. I know only 1 series(that sucks at design) with her...
In the manga her appearance has to carry more of the mood-setting responsibilities, with the esthetics suffering accordingly. Not that it does have to be this way, it just so happens.
Isn't the guy in blue plays Kenshin battousai live action?
Yup. He's freaking Den-O
The other one is Soujiro Seta, so, yeah, Miho confirmed as Shishio.
They look like dude in there mid 30's
Beck all over again...
Takeru Satoh, who's playing Mashiro is 25 though. But that just means they can't find teens who is expected to act well.
Let's call it making the cast futureproof. Most of the series is about the characters at late teens- early 20's neways.
It's also less of a hassle making someone look younger with make-up than the inverse.
Akito, good enough. Mashiro, what the fuck are you doing.
'Least that fat faced fuck from death note's not playing one of these two. Christ.
I absolutely loved Bakuman, and am still waiting for an omake since we never get to see the wedding in the end.
At least it didn't end as abruptly as Mx0.
I'll give the movie a watch if someone subs it.
I want the omake epilogue chapter that shows what happens to Aoki and Hiramaru. Hiramaru is my favorite character, and it would be nice to see him and Aoki having kids or something.
Takeru Satou again? Nice.
I wonder if Momotaros will come out~
Oh neat, more castrated metrosexuals.
I thought Takagi was supposed to be the better looking one.
wonder if they can properly portray niizuma's character... probably not and it will be painful to watch...
They could study musicians if they run out of mangakas who work in similar ways. And it's probably the serious characters like Fukuda that will be harder to blend with the overall specifications of the show. But the manga does have moments where it clearly goes into subroutines, so maybe that's the way for the movie too.
I'd rather see PCP(the crime manga inside bakuman) live action than Bakuman.
None of the fictional manga in Bakuman will ever see the light of day. Especially not the ones that were successful like PCP or the manga that puts them on top. The expectations are too high. If they come out and aren't that good, they'll be made worse by the fact there's expectations attached to them.
