Confirmation of a new season of long winded light novel title anime “Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa Machigatteiru” has surfaced, proving something of a surprise to some and a joy to at least a few.
The news was leaked by way of a promotional store pin-up – with the planned April 18th live-stream’s probable surprise announcement now falling flat as a result:
Considering how many viewers couldn’t be bothered to continue watching the first season beyond a few episodes it would also be hard to say the news has been met with universal excitement, but it seems someone bought the discs anyway at least.

have you been under a rock for the past decade of anime or something
literally every second cute-girl anime these days has an insufferable lead character who thinks he's too cool for everything and makes sarcastic monologues and sighs whenever the female characters do anything 'wacky'. It was old and annoying in Haruhi, and its positively grating now. I have no idea why anyone thinks this is new or cool.

Even if many viewers dropped the series after a few episode, the remaining fans seem loyal enough to buy the discs.

They are...representative of what they are able to represent, aren't they? Which means that quintuple-number sales are enough to overrule most of the editions.

He is the hero we need, but not the hero we deserve.

At any rate, Hikigaya is the anti-thesis of the typical lucky yet unbelievably oblivious stud in a harem show to date. Never have I seen such a protag having so much contempt for girls in general, though his analyses do hold some truth to them.
That final speech in episode 5 was the epitome of 2013 TV animes' writing. By episode 12, he was a broken young man playing the devil just to get things going.
"That's why I will always HATE nice girls."
Which made it the best fucking anime hardly no one ever saw of the season, let alone the year :(
More is always welcomed tho, his theory on why nice girls suck on a LOT of notes is very true.

Either Sai-chan or Shizuka route. They are the only characters who actually get some honest praise from 8Man in the novels...

I didn't like this show very much and it dropped severely in quality during the last few episodes. I kind of liked the cynical main character, but the two main girls weren't very likable, the little sister was great though.
She has a lot in common with Hayato then, I reckon.
Awesome show with well written and profound characters and dialogues, too bad it's disguised as a typical romcom. I'll def welcome season 2

I'd prefer a protagonist who is actually quite capable but endlessly self-deprecating and a complete liar like I-kun from the Zaregoto light novels
