BBC coverage of the Kanamara matsuri has again exposed the glorious penis-worshiping Shinto heritage of Japan for all to admire, despite touching a raw nerve amongst crazed nationalists desperate to hide such a “shameful” spectacle from the prying eyes of hairy barbarians.

Perhaps almost as entertaining as the main event itself is the pathetic spectacle of nationalists spewing their outrage at the prospect of a centuries old religious festival causing national embarrassment in the barbarian media:

“The shame of Japan!”

“I so wish they would stop this festival. There is such a thing as being too crass.”

“Shameful. I wish we could just give Kawasaki over to Korea or something.”

“How the BBC loves penis worshiping festivals.”

“The shame of Japan. Put a stop to these barbaric matsuri, what kind of foul of aborigines would worship stone phalluses!”

“This is an insult to our ancient ways. More so with all these crossdressers and new-halves, it is like something out of the mind of a Korean.”

“The only one insulting them is you – a matsuri is a matsuri whether it is 400 years old or a thousand years old.”

“That grand Japanese culture you rightists are so proud of. Let’s hope they keep sharing it with the world. I don’t mind this stuff and I’m certainly not going to try denying it.”

“Hentai Japs!”

“I wish they wouldn’t tell foreigners about these shameful festivals.”

“The people in the pictures all look like Koreans to me.”

“Kawasaki has a lot of Koreans, so this is obviously their doing and not real Japanese culture.”

“Make no mistake that this is not a real festival but a sham being propagated by Koreans to besmirch Japan’s image.”

“This one is actually a reconstruction started in 1977, based on an Edo period festival.”

“Read the BBC’s article, it is from the 17th century and was originally supposed to protect prostitutes from STDs. Japs really love to try to blame inconvenient facts they don’t like on others, don’t we?”

“I though this was a scene from a SOD work…”

“Foreigners sure do love Kanamara, don’t they?”

“The BBC hate Japan and are making fun of us, obviously.”

“The British just love crude things and enjoy the most filthy sort of humour. No surprise they like this.”

“Even the Japanese media refuses to cover this festival at all.”

“It’s the first I ever heard of it…”

“All nations of the world had phallic divinities at one point in there history, it is a little unusual that such a cult survived to the present day though.”

“Considering the state of Japan’s birth rate I think these fertility festivals are worth hanging on to.”

“How fucked up is this country when all our porn is mosaiced and there is a festival like this… talk about double standards.”
