BBC coverage of the Kanamara matsuri has again exposed the glorious penis-worshiping Shinto heritage of Japan for all to admire, despite touching a raw nerve amongst crazed nationalists desperate to hide such a “shameful” spectacle from the prying eyes of hairy barbarians.
Perhaps almost as entertaining as the main event itself is the pathetic spectacle of nationalists spewing their outrage at the prospect of a centuries old religious festival causing national embarrassment in the barbarian media:

The Kanamara festival is NOT a traditional festival – it was started in 1969. It attracts westerners for whom it reinforces racist stereotypes about Japan. It is not good for Japan and its image in the world.
