I think this show could've been better without the useless, boring guy.
In my honest opinion, the guy is pretty much a requirement. He is a dog in human form. His existence is what kick started everything. He is necessary for Kobeni's cuter moments. His own reaction is sometimes pretty adorable, which is again, a requirement for Kobeni's cuter moments. And there won't be a Mashiro around if he hadn't existed in the first place.
