i really enjoyed this series and hope it gets a 3rd season. The OVA were basically season 1.5. 8 OVA between 2 seasons with 12 episodes? yeah sure.
so with most series this season coming to an end with 12 or 13 episodes, is there a hint on what awaits us in the season to come yet?
A third season will depend on how well the Blu Rays/DVDs sell. One place is reporting that Volume 2 sold a little over 3000 copies combined for the DVDs/Blu Rays which is kinda shit. For reference Infinite Stratos 2 got over 10,000 a volume lol.
Latest Vol.2 sell is 3,679 which is not that bad. Using IS2 as reference is not good because not many anime is sold over 10k.

According to 2ch, 3000-4000 is a break even point for most anime. It depends on the production cost. If the anime has crazy fluid animation and/or has big advertisement then it may need more than that threshold to cover production cost.
Hi HoHoAra, the first thing that comes to mind to me was the article where the Hidan No Aria author speaks out telling the fans to buy more copies of the show on Blu Ray/DVD because they weren't at a level that would get the show a second season. The first volume sold 6356 copies on release. While I'm sure successive volumes will drop off a little, it wasn't enough to get it another season.
I think for anime with better quality animation the higher the sales the better.

I'm down for it getting a third myself, but personally I kinda got tired of the humor. After a while you can see exactly where the jokes are going for the most part and it stops being as funny. When it is funny, it is really funny though.

Love the show but it needs way more fanservice.
All that x-rated dialogue without so much as a pantyflash gets a bit frustrating after a while.
There's truckload of other fanservicey anime with panty flash, nipples, and weirdly-shaped oversized breasts out there.
This series' main charm is the sheer amount of verbal dirty jokes thrown by high-school girls and the tsukkomi to them. Then there's also nostalgic factor (pretty sure you guys have attempted/said some of the dirty jokes back when you're in school back then... if no, then your school life must've been a complete reverse from mine).
And no, the series doesn't need any of those physically sexual exhibitions/exposures; it's all up to the viewers' imagination to interpret the joke situation which for me, make things funnier than giving a direct reveal to them.

I would have never expected a homage to Georges Méliès's Voyage dans la Lune show up in something like this. Just another reason why this is one of my favorite recent shows.

This story is great for the following and I wish there were more eps coming aorund next year:
1-Fair Play Rivalry
2-well understood advantages and disadvantages in said rivalry
3-both girls strive to "net" the target in a fair and balanced way, which leads them to appreciate the opponents strategy and skill.
4-I want an Onee-san like that :3
