Hatsune Miku’s 3/9 celebration MATSURI DA DIVA is over, and reactions are mixed about the two hour plus event, with some complaints from Vocaloid fans about all the amount of time given over to seiyuu rather the virtual idols themselves…
The event began with a rousing Miku music video to warm up the crowd, then turns into a variety show of sorts, hosted by Vocaloid seiyuu Saki Fujita, Asami Shimoda, and Yu Asakawa, with live singing performances by other vocaloid seiyuu Naoto Fuga and Meiko Haigo – although with there being a notable divide between Vocaloid fans and seiyuu otaku and some questions as to just what business a bunch of vocal models for synthesiser software and third party songs have in being identified as Vocaloid “seiyuu,” the event was perhaps not as straightforwardly received as organisers might like.
And in a bid to promote the game this entire show is intended to promote, the seiyuu show off their Project Diva rythmn game skills (or in the case of Saki Fujita, a lack there of…), and finally exit with a final all-seiyuu singing performance:
Then began the main event all Vocaloid fans were waiting for, where the holographic princess descended to the stage to perform a 6 song setlist, including some new songs and past classics such as Tell Your World and The World is Mine:
Well the whole idol worship thing in general is just stupid anyway. I’m not just talking about virtual idol’s either. Real and virtual alike.
So now humans are worshiping a computer made idol? That’s very nice, lucky I’m not part of it.
ALL idols, gods, celebrities, are fabrications of men and only exist in the mind of the fans (and that INCLUDES religious figures, so if you go to church to idolize jesus your just as stupid as these japanese idolizinb Miku, same goes of you go to a movie cause of certain actor or bought a jersey whit the number of your favorite sport star IS ALL THE SAME) and MIKU is man made computer idol, eve the “voice” is sampled from humans so i dont see your point, im a firm believer that NO ONE is better than me or deserves to be praised or idolized by me, no matter what they do or did theyr just simple human beings like me, and i said they only exist in the mind of the fans because THEY DO, Miku is a nobody TO YOU, but is an Idol to THEM, i dont care one bit about sport stars, or movie stars, there are different kind of “stars” there are political figures, researchers and inventors and such
Exactly plus this is pretty much what our future where technology have gone so far too. The idol is pretty much in the future will have a hard time as you saw it now.
This is what human create too btw. If you want to blame anyone blame humanity. We are the creator of this NOT Miku who just born as our creation. This is like calling your child a failure…
*Tips fedora*
I was sooooooooo exited about this, until 30 minutes later, I realise that there was no Miku on Stage… and that went for hour and half. Not a bad game presentation, but it isn’t worth 1000 yens just for 30 minutes of Miku solo concert.
I’m scared…
Needed Mahiru Inmi cameo…
