PS4 Sales “Over 6 Million” – Xbox One Sales “3.5 Million”

Sony is boasting of over 6 million PlayStation 4s sold, with the Japanese launch now having made it to 370,000, with 13.7 million games sold, to an estimated total of some 3.5 million for the Xbox One.
The “6 million” figure apparently covers “actual sales” rather than dubious distribution figures, and so already seems to represent a lasting and and unsurpassable lead for Sony in the present generation.
The “games sold” figure also includes download sales, which whilst fair to the coming delivery medium does likely gift them a large number of cheaper titles.
Microsoft has refrained from bombastic sales boasts for reasons which now seem obvious, but is believed to be stuck at around 3.5 million based on previous announcements and extrapolations of indirect sales comparisons made since – raising the spectre of further humiliating headlines in the near future when PS4 sales double those of the Xbox One.

I see little reason to buy anything of this generation esp with some of the nasty lock down of some of the consoles such as not allowing third party control devices.
Yes I'm looking at you Sony and your little 256 bit challenge key that's in the PS4 controller for no apparent reason other then to block third party devices.

Why PS3+PC? The PS3 IS a PC... Soon enough an emulator should be released for it too, considering it's running the x86 architecture it will be much easier than programming an emulator for some random chip.
The Wii U, as underpowered as it is, is the only "next gen console", the rests are just underpowered PCs with a fancy UI.

unfortunately they didnt make the PS4 backwards compatiable with some PS3 games. if they did, it would have broken records hands down.
I would have bought one if it was fully PS3 compatible. Even without any decent PS4 games, having the extra memory would reduce the amount of loading for PS3 games. But without backward compatibility, I would have to shoehorn another device into my entertainment system if I bought a PS4, since I wouldn't be able to just replace the PS3. It's just not worth the bother.
