The JSDF have unveiled its annual calendar for 2014, bursting with a plethora of extraordinarily attractive military women in hopes of attracting new recruits – though it seems the women in question are of dubious background, being not actual service women but enlisted as idols, models and other roles typical of a calendar girl.

Well, I wouldn't trust you to lead a group of boyscouts, let alone an army. Anyone who is willing to discard resources because they don't fit some arbitrary standard is not fit to be a general.
Well, considering how beta otakus are, they would'be be so bad at least in support roles (mental cases execpted). The problem in the military is obeying, not really being aggressive, that's secondary.
I'm almost certain there's otaku already in the SDF, that're more than capable than maneuvering a firing a rifle.

What happens when the recruits find out that JSDF is just a ripoff of SAO: no logout, no respawn and almost everyone is really guys? Get ready for the lawsuits on how "this JSDF game is broken", or "I thought I was only signing up for the beta".

Japan does realize that they are not allowed to have an army right? I thought we rewrote their laws for them and stated that they were not allowed to have one. So what's the deal with this? Anyone care to explain?
....JSDF = Japanese Self-Defense Force, so it is not exactly an army yea.
Renaming something does change what it is; it's still a military service. The JSDF is not the "coast guard".
Japan does realize it just fine, and so does Uncle Sam. Did you really think that JSDF exists without his silent approval?
International agreements only mean anything if someone cares enough to enforce them. A treaty is worth nothing without either mutual agreement or a strong military. Come to think of it, just take a look at the history of the UN, I can't think of a better way to illustrate this point.
They are allowed a military, just not one on the scale that would allow "power-projection" like the US or any other major first-world nation. They can have what they deem is necessary and required to defend themselves. They cannot allow the force to grow to the point that they can be deemed an invasive threat to other nations.
If JPN requires military force outside of their territory (beyond coalition forces; even those are only small forces allowed for a limited time) to actively protect themselves, that's where the US force stationed in JPN come into play. Though really the US forces in JPN are the real deterrent. The JPN forces just allow the US forces to not keep a larger standing force there. US forces are the power projection while the JPN force are the domestic protectors.
Once America discovered that defeating Imperial Japan led to Asia becoming overrun with commies, they quickly backtracked in an effort to salvage the situation. Japan was allowed a "self-defence force" so that the US could focus on a possible Soviet attack through Germany.
The nukes played a part in that as well. The soviets would of made Japan worse than it is today had there of been an invasion by allied forces on mainland japan.
