The latest outstanding exemplar of the Japanese teaching profession to surface emerges in the form of a teacher who introduced daily meditation sessions to his class specifically so he could shove his phone up the skirts of his female students.
An Okayama prefecture middle school teacher in his thirties reportedly spent 4 months indulging his voyeuristic appetites at the expense of students.
His take on the problem of how to get a peek at what lay up the skirts of his charges was novel – he had the entire class engage in daily meditation, and whilst their eyes were shut for a minute at the end of each school day he indulged himself freely.
He used a soundless camera app on his smartphone (Japanese not being trusted with mobile phone cameras which do not make loud noises on operation) to take upskirt photos of at least 5 of his girls some 30 times.
His antics finally came to light when a student noticed what he was up to and apprised their parents of the matter.
He blames the Internet, saying “I got interested in voyeurism from a site on the Internet.”
The local educational authority’s response was to sack him, though they claim that at the request of parents they cannot reveal his personal details – which should make finding subsequent employment much easier for him, at least.
