I am a n00b and I have a question: Can a single doll do all those positions?
Depends on what you mean by "positions". For the general body stance, sure, some dolls are surprisingly articulated and can bend and be posed in many ways.
But some details can't be done with articulation. If you see a figure that is displaying different hand gestures or a face that changes expression, what you are probably seeing is removable hands and/or heads. In the case of Snow Miku above, I see two sets of hands (bare and mittened) and at least three faces.
