The only thing I don't understand about fujoshi is this: Moetaku will build the shrine, bring the cake, and generally obsess and jerk it to doujin about the female character. Fujoshi will do the same, BUT they only like to imagine the male character fucking another guy. Is that like, a fear of their own sexuality? Penis envy? Gender dysmorphia from modern living? Hidden desire for anal? Or what?
A man can project himself onto the dude that is having sex with the woman. I think women have a harder time doing that, so they compromise with homosexual fantasies to remove the "other girl" from the equation.
As a fujoshi, from personal experience it's two fold. It's like this Anon said, it's a little harder to project myself on the girl character, but I can definitely fantasize myself with the 2D guy. As for the yaoi part, it's for the same reasons men who like gir-on-girl porn: The more the better; plus no body that you're not interested in (I'm not interested in girls, I don't care about seeing them in my porn).
