“Strongly Sexual” Monpiece Cards Banned

Monster musume fans look to be overjoyed and enraged in equal measure with the news that Compile Heart’s PSV card ’em up Monster Monpiece is being released internationally – but that due to their “strong sexual nature” a large number of monster girls have been dumped to protect the fragile minds of western gamers from corruption.
The game is just too sexy for the barbarian masses, localisers Idea Factory say in an apologetic missive (although they do at least provide detailed disclosure):
Idea Factory International, Inc. would like to inform fans and prospective users of Monster Monpiece that we have made the decision to remove several Monster Girl images from the North American and European versions of Monster Monpiece.
The gameplay, game system, and storyline are fully intact and Idea Factory International strives to localize and publish Idea Factory titles with the same content as their Japanese releases.
Here is the list of Monster Girls whose images have been limited to that of their level 1, 2, or 3 evolution form due to the strong sexual nature of the card images: Vampire, Kraken, Goblin, Cockatrice, Kobold, Skeleton, Titania, Bahamut, Fia, Brownie, Pegasus, Mandragora, Mau Sibau, Rafflesia, Death Scorpion, Phantom, and Tengu.
We fully understand that there are needs and demands for the complete version of these games.
Our intention and motivation is to offer Idea Factory titles in a form that is as close as possible to the Japanese versions.
This was a tough decision, but we would greatly appreciate your understanding and support.
Much in the way of understanding or support seems unlikely, but those willing to overlook this can get the title in download form sometime in the spring.

"to protect the fragile minds of western gamers from corruption"
it's likely that those very gamers watched porn, hardcore porn or any kind of porn
It's probably because the girls are so petite, and thin, some of it would be considered as child pornography in the West.
Most of it would be NG in Australia, what with their law that essentially bans porn with women whose tits aren't comedy-relief big (basically any anime that has any degree of fan service and isn't Queen's Blade or Eiken).
nah, even Queen's Blade wouldn't slide (Ymir).
last I checked, it's not considered CP unless the art is based off of real children
and I really doubt there exist monster children around here
. . .
Tell that to the people who make the laws :P
I really hope at least that's just the case, that the banned stuff is just "CP" related. That's the only way this makes sense and the only way I personally don't care much, besides the fact that censorship is just plain evil. But if there's a character that looks 10 and in a sexual position of any kind you can bet they're worried it'll show up on Fox News one day :/
It's true, most of... well, pretty much all of what's getting removed is what could be considered anime CP. This is just a real loss for lolicons and people who just hate censorship.
>anime CP
"could be considered", yes, but by morons
the word "CP" could be considered written CP
This is because of the handful of large English-speaking countries that try to child-proof everything, like America and Australia.
Companies don't want to risk getting their games banned.
So instead they risk nobody buying their crippled game. It's lose-lose.

That is because the boycott never been done in large scale, just many different people not buying the game because the content was altered. There is no petition, no forum or no news, just different people on their own, not buying the game.
Also, for most part the censorship was a result from the pressure coming from some western family/feminist oriented organization, in which they can and will tear inside out the company's image, so its not the company's fault for that questionable decision. The boycott only worsening the situation, and is never a solution for this problem.
Nope, there is no evidence of any kind of boycott doing anything but increasing the sales of targeted merchandise. The people boycotting were never going to purchase the item in the first place but the boycott puts the product in the news giving it free exposure and peeking peoples curiosity.
I've never seen any evidence of people mass boycotting videogames over similar content removal. Maybe I'm just missing something, but has any game actually suffered poor sales as a result of censorship?
But putting that aside, I don't see how this is a lose-lose. At the very least, they are securing access to a wider audience through being able to sell their games in traditionally sexually repressive regions without too much trouble from the moral guardians. At very least it's a win-lose for them.
there's only one solution, don't buy it.
Certainly would be preferable aoitoriko; otherwise they will do it again and again until it is just habit ruining everything.
People of that mindset are only happy when
nobody can buy it
At least you have a choice. If they won't release it, who wins?
add to that stupid italian moralists that censor even blood in Naruto, one piece, dragonball
so those fucks are responsible for the water running out of rock lee's bandages in the first tournament?
While I agree with you, this case is actually more about the UK's loli law more than anything else. Most of the removed content is going to be pictures of what appear to be little girls of an early teenage age or younger.
You know that western feminists and mainstream media would've had a heyday with something like this. How dare you sexualize the female body! There's nothing overtly sexual about it! ... lol, what a joke. They probably would've taken it a step further and threw around accusations of glorifying child pornography, or something ridiculous like that.
Another title in the line of the ones that many won't buy due to heavily altered/crippled content. I for one want the games complete or not at all.
It's a shame really, I like IF games.
Half of them would get you arrested, lol..
Looks like the decent colelction of pictures you can find this or that way on enough webpages - N i can't even determine the monsters for most (the easiest would probably be the Golem, Dragon and Tarantula).
The boycott (which I'd join if I'd own a PSV ...) won't be noticed anyway since the expected sales are probably small as is - thus not warranting the hassle to make different versions and apply them to the retarded national media controll institutes.
Hail state-controll, allthough here it's an institue of the "public domain" independent from the state (yeah right) <.<
It's almost as bad as censored porn...
Not so, since when censored porn is released, everybody gets to see the same thing everywhere.
Most japanese censored porn actually gets uncensored when they get shipped to the west...
This on the other hand is just bullshit... I don't even see any nudity there. I mean, I doubt this game is marketed towards kids anyways. God the people here in the west are close minded...for fucks sake.
It's not so much the people than the politics and some "well thinking" associations which are the problem. They are kind of like Ishihara and Agnes-chan, no one likes them but they still believe they know what we should do or not (namely what they want us to do) while they do stuffs we couldn't even imagine behind closed doors...
It's possible that I believe that way because I'm a lesbian and want some Monstergirl yuri outside of Embric of Wulfhammer, but what the Hell, as an addendum to the previous post. (I probably need to register an account here now)
There's a known distinction made in society between "feminists" and "feminazis", isn't there?
I just want to let you know that not all feminists agree with the sentiment that female bodies should not be shown off.
I'm a feminist, I'm just not some evil overarching lunatic. I'm just as outraged over this garbage as everyone else.
Bodies should be celebrated, and loved, even if they're monstergirls. Or perhaps, especially if they're monstergirls. :3
I allways compare those feminininazis to muslim faithmongers trying to make the sharia status quo.
Think about it... both want women out of different places.
I suggest you all email them: support@ideafintl.com
Let them know you don't accept censorship and them giving into American and UK terrorist organizations.
And if you insist calling the moral panic and unjust laws in place to arrest, snuff out, cause fear and control over ideas isn't terrorism, then I don't know what else is.
Boycott this product and company.
So much fail in such a short letter...
Ah well, I'm not interested in social card games either way. But I can say that this decision of Idea Factory just strengthens my dislike of such games as a whole.
As for monster girls in general... I've already preordered Vanadis' next eroge title '聖もんむすFestival!! ~お祭りだよ全員集合!~', which comes out by the end of February. No doubtly a better money investment than this social card game for the psp.
The fact is, they probably do wish they could release this game untouched and just translated, but that would require western society to change. I just think they're afraid of ending up scapegoats for the um... "pedobear hunters"?
It actually doesn't require any such thing.
They could have released it untouched and it wouldn't have been an issue (ESRB would still be M and PEGI would be 16) and people will still bitch at them about "sexism" and what not whether the self-censor the game or not.
Also, Agarest Wars 2 had a feature where you can massage a loli in her underwear. That was released uncensored in the US by Aksys Games and it never had an issue.
It's not a social card game, it's a PS Vita Card Tower Defense RPG.
>Tower Defense
Ew.
FUCK CENSORSHIP
FUCK PRUDES
FUCK AMERICA
FUCK MORAL GUARDIANS
FUCK IGNORANT SHITHEADS
Why include America in that? All of those other things aren't restricted to America or the specific creations of America.
I mean, if you're going to hate America, at least do it for any of the perfectly valid reasons.
More like fuck apple & their nazi censors.
You fuck all that since you can no longer fuck the censored girls, right..? Not sure if it is a good replacement, but well...
seconded
I only have one thing to say to this: +1.
Yeah this is a giant, "fuck off" kinda deal. They shouldn't be afraid and just license the cards anyways. You know people will just print up online version of these cards anyways.
This is a VIDEO game.
