I'm not sure but, i think i might be the only one left that hates blatant fan-service now. The moe-fied fan service nowadays makes negima seem tame, and that have fan service in almost every chapter up til chapter 100.

Why not? There's a lot of Russian influence in the north west of Japan. Historically they traded with the area and even introduced Orthodox Christianity (unlike Roman Catholicism that was more prevalent in the south). The Russian fishing fleets used ports there as well, and sailors married local girls and settled there. Russian musicians have also been quite popular, such as Origa.

The character designs kinda remind me more than a little of the ICHIGO MASHIMARO TV series. Totally thought it was Kyuta Sakai doing the designs, surprised it wasn't. (It's Keigo Sasaki based on original designs by Kouhaku Kuroboshi.)
I hadn't even considered watching this one (wasn't even all that aware of it) until I saw the generally favourable Twitter reaction over the past day or so, I'll wait a few more episodes and see what the consensus is before I try watching it myself.
And now that Ika Musume has ended a new invader has emerged to attempt conquest of the world.
Cocky lolis are so boring that my mind would implode if I watched this. One of the few rare series I will be skipping without giving it a chance.
