He needs to get over the fact that the 80s ended a long time ago and anime has long since changed. He refuses to adapt to the changing times, and instead refuses to see anything outside of his 80s nostalgia filter, which disqualifies him as a legitimate critic, who need to be objective. I think he is the executive editor of ANN now, which is funny because the money he makes off that site is made from gigantic full page banner ads from the very anime he hates, he's like the Rush Limbaugh of anime critics.     Yeah, you talk about a load that should have been swallowed. This shit-wrapped-in-skin has almost nothing positive to say about any contemporary anime no matter what genre. He is also prone to Glenn Beck style morality tirades and he is always speaking down to other users in the forums, whether they are simply giving a reason why they legitimately like an anime or if they are calling him out on his bullshit. He needs to pull that diamond encrusted shaft out of his ass and realize people have different interests than him and that all art is subjective and art is always changing, because the closest definition you have for art is "an ongoing cultural conversation".     Anime in 4k is pointless, unless you like 3D computer generated graphics, animation will never have enough detail to justify 4k. Even 1080p is overkill for most series. Drawing little details that can take advantage of higher resolutions requires too much time (and, therefore, money paid to animators)

    That's not really true. It really does not take that much longer to create a more detailed backdrop and the software used to render the characters simply has to upscale the final product before introducing them to the backdrop.

    Hand painting with multiple colors is a lot more time consuming than any of that. The real limiter is how powerful the rendering computer is, along with other hardware limiting factors.

    This is probably one of the best premises for fanservice I have ever seen. A girl is forced to do naughty things and instead of showing masturbation they show lesbian time with an angel girl to symbolize it. AND the main character is the girl so we follow her all the time instead of the boy. Nice.
