The increasing volume of the SAO franchise continues to amaze – this time with the long awaited “Extra Edition” delivering plenty of extra content, much of it in the form of Suguha.
The special airs on New Year’s Eve in Japan and elsewhere, with there being the usual anticipation should it also bring in the announcement all have been awaiting:

Thus began the eternal conflict
On one side is the Alliance for Round Melons - the ARM
On the other side the Coalition Of Loli Enthusiasts. Somewhere along the way the Japanese mixed up the L with the R and it became known as the CORE.
The epic battle between the ARM and the CORE devastated the galaxy. Both sides fight on with super-advanced technology, from plasma guns to giant robots to sonar jammers. The only acceptable outcome is total victory.

I am pretty sure the CORE troops out numbers the ARM ones and by a lot. Not sure if that's enough reason to ensure our victory, but we sure got the advantage.

Sorry but LH is a horrible bastardization of the genre and filled with too many cliches to be considered better. The idea and actual production for the two anime concepts came out close to each other and is heavily influenced by .//sign but overall SAO had a more polished fist season. I honesly wished it could have gone on for several more episodes. LH was directed towards 13-15 year old with crappy animation and stereotypical characters. Anyone with maturity over a preteen boy would have been turned off by LH
At least Gary Stu didn't land a starring role in LH.
She has enough Plot for 2 seasons.

Yes, it is.
SAO is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Sure it's not very good considering how popular it is but IMO it doesn't deserve all this hate. There are plenty of worse animes and we get more of them every season. SAO is just average or a bit above average.
Alternative view on reality: SAO is a modern fairy tale and freaking amazing in that regard.

I could argue that but this is probably a reasonable assessment.
However, it isn't really everyone who says it's crap. There are many who think it's freaking amazing or the best anime ever. Even with Asuna and Suguha, it's so very far from either of those descriptions that it attracts stones.
