Shingeki no Kyojin Movie = “Live Action”

Titanic blockbuster Shingeki no Kyojin has delivered a shock to fans in the form of a 2015 live action adaptation, which most seem to believe will only be a disaster of appropriately gigantic proportions.
The movie’s staff include director Shinji Higuchi (of Gonzo extraction and best known for directing “Japan Sinks”), and script writing by Yuusuke Watanabe (whose writing credits include the Gantz movie) and Tomohiro Machiyama (a film critic).
Plenty of cosplay and parody material reveals fans are not entirely hostile to the idea of live action titans:

With the record of Japanese live action movie adaptations of popular manga franchises being what it is, it would be something of an understatement to say there is scepticism about the movie’s prospects:

American have trouble following the characters likeness, plot and place setting of the original, and make their own version of Attack of Titan where everyone wear black latex..
Japanese version simply lacks the technology to make such action film, and their actors perhaps is not up to scratch, just look beautiful but barely able to doing convincing act.
Conclusion. Live action is a bad idea, and I can't wait to see the final product get crushed like crap.

They have good actors with fine acting skills, heck even pretty boys in kamen rider series can act better than better than that of Tobey Maguire in Spider-man.
What if it was picked up by Guillermo del Toro or Neill Blomkamp?

Keanu Reeves? Hell yeah, I'd definitely watch that, though i'd prefer Will Smith, just saying.
They had a black Piccolo, you'll have to expect a green titan if Hollywood takes over.

Maybe not, but at least Hollywood makes nice special effects, if nothing else.
If you have the budget for it. B movies usually don't have that kind of money.
Realistically speaking Hollywood might not have been any better because I doubt they could have secured a big enough budget and a good director interested in the project. Too little money and a B movie director will produce garbage no matter where it's made.
However, the Japanese themselves will fail invariably because they simply couldn't ever have the resources, plus most of the cast and environment was quite specifically European looking. But if they drop that and instead relocate it to a Japanese setting, renaming the characters in the process, they could make just another goofy Japanese live action movie, I suppose.

Most "Live Action" Animes dont come even close to their drawn Pendants.
Clearly this is a job for Michael Bay and JJ Abrams, their boom and shine is exactly what Titan needs.
Fuck that! If Michael Bay got a hold of it Eren would be dead within fifteen minutes for no logical reason, Armin would be some guy with a professional wrestlers build and Mikasa would be the whitest mexican ever, all the while....running and explosions.

Once a manga show above average popularity it's quick to anime, then merchandising, and finally live action, killing the series for any further development of the storyline.
Grabbing as much money before some other fluff replaces it.

The first GITS was lauded as a masterpiece of story and art, then they beat it down to MSPaint CGI and regurgitated storylines.

All the main characters, with the exception of Mikasa(who is only half-Japanese), come from a mixture of various European and middle-Eastern(Ymir?) ancestries. Having all of them played by Japanese actors will look ridiculous; It will pretty much look like a cosplay fan-film.
