I know its an odd angle view, but it looks like her legs have almost no flesh on them, and her knees o_o; they look sharp and pointy. They don't look human.
The official art was never "good" to begin with anyway.
Yeah the manga's art isn't good either. It's just that the story was so good that it made you forget about the art. But take a break from reading the manga for a month or so and when you read it again i swear you'll think the art looks like shit. Then you'll wonder if the art has always been that bad or did it just start that chapter.
While the art is quite rough, it's nowhere near shit. I'll take it over generic moe shit with huge eyes and a 100% female cast in high school so you can fap while you watch.
I don't know if I would say the story is "so good" I mean, Its average at best, The manga has a nice setting but story?

Manga art was horrid, it's surprising and lucky it ever got that popular with art like that.
The manga was the artist's first manga I believe, and he was only young when he started it. But the art is pretty shocking in places, especially at the beginning. He didn't seem to really have a good grasp on how anatomy works (I'm not just talking about the Titans either) and some appalling perspective. It does improve a lot, but yeah, its not fantastic. I think the anime improved the art a lot.
by "official art" it definitely meant the "manga" art as well and not the anime art only. And the art of the manga was not all good to begin with.

Every athlete have implants. When you lose fat and gain muscless you cant chose from where you lose it so your breast will shrink accordingly.
For official art it seems a little shabby to me, they could do better, or just add less muscle.
We seen enough loli throwing cars and other big objects, there wouldnt be anything weird if Misaka would be more slender and womanly like the other female characters even if she so strong.
This is generally true for super-bodybuilding or other extreme athletes, but a well toned, sporty body shouldn't lose out on a significant lot of breast volume and other distinctive feminine characteristics. Although of course that depends on individual taste - some prefer a hourglass figure with enhanced reproductive features whereas others prefer a more lithe, androgynous build.
Actually both of you missed the part that extreme physical training stunts feminine trait development. Think back about the best athletic girls you had in your class in high school, none of them probably looked feminine. In fact, they very well may have had higher testosterone levels than you, especially if you ended up reading Sancom. And once those feminine features develop, there's not really a natural way back.

The real Mikasa (manga) is actually quite flat chested and yes, ripped. The author himself drew her in a sports bikini with magnificent abs, chiseled body and a flat chest.
