Persona 5 “Due 2014 Winter” – For The PS3

The release date of Persona 5 has finally been announced – but the news that it is due winter 2014 for the PS3 only has not been taken very well by long-suffering fans.

Also, and rather more unexpectedly, the Vita is to received an apparent Project Diva inspired dancing game in the form of P4 Dancing All Night.
Other new announcements include Persona Q for the 3DS, a crossover RPG featuring both P3 and P4 characters, a Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem crossover for the WiiU, and Persona fighting game “complete edition” for the PS3.
The fact that only now is Sega/Atlus even announcing a new Persona RPG title for the PS3, for release long after the PS4, is being subject to intense ridicule from Persona fans, the patience of whom has long since worn thin:

Catherine was a godly game.
Persona 5 has probably been on hiatus for awhile and when Atlus got bought the new owners decided to continue making the game which would be the reason why it is coming for the PS3.

was there a way not to be aside from reading moonrunes? The original attraction of the game for me was the sassy sawashiro miyuki voiced catherine but there was really no way of playing it for me at the time without a translation.
I just imported the game from Japan and winged it, learning Japanese is easier than people think.
I'd say the chance is slim we'll see Japanese VA for english release of P5.(I could be wrong) So if you cant deal with Eng Dub, get to learning, worth it! >_>

I agree, I'm just happy it's finally coming... And I'm very glad it's not on Vita, since I don't own that.
It will come to Vita. All Persona games comes to console first before going handheld. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced P4 Arena for PS Vita a little later.

Why would they not expect it to take full advantage? PCs have had that sort of processing power for a good while now. With the PS4 being DirectX compatible and all that junk, I would say that there won't be a learning curve like what we had with the PS3 and the cell. I mean, it's pretty common hardware with very similar instruction sets. I would say that you aren't going to see games get much prettier. Should have at least taken advantage of that 1080 60fps capability on the PS4.
DirectX being a Windows specific API, makes it totally irrelevant to your point...
Except directx isn't windows specific, the xbox has been using it from the beginning and sony decided to go with a modified version of it for the PS4. The instruction sets for the cpu are x86_64. It's really no different than programming for the PC. That's why porting to and fro is said to be a breeze. Educate yourself.
Another know it all idiot. The ps4 does not use a modified version of directx, but it is able to do the same things using two other APIs (one low lvl, almost driver lvl, and another wrapper api). Educate yourself
For the love of God, the PS4 does not use directX. It does not use a modified version of directX (whatever the fuck that means). It uses OpenGL variant, similar to the PS3. Just because it can do what directX does not mean it uses it in any way, shape or form.
DirectX is a windows component, its not some fantasy library that can be dropped into any OS and have it work automagically. Saying its a "modified version" is even more moronic, because you are implying MS will give Sony (their main competitor) the source code for DX in order to even be able to modify it. The xbox is developed by MS - so is DirectX. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that the XboxOS is either a direct subset of windows, or using enough chunks of it to be able to utilize DX.
If you believe the reason its easier to port is because somehow the PS4 is using DX, and not because the architecture and available resources of the system eliminates the need for esoteric patterns needed in order to get it running correctly (as was necessary with PS3, and even PS2), then you need to stop acting like you know what you are talking about.
They showed that they have no interest in that when they threw the SMT 4 on PS3 idea out the window because it was to much work, and just did the handheld route..
Most of the current and upcoming titles on the PS4 are being co-released on the last-gen consoles as well, so I'd hardly say they take full advantage of the new hardware either. They just slap on some fancier shader effects and increase framerate and resolution, and call the games 'next gen'. That will probably continue with most games for a while, until there are enough new consoles out there to justify developing exclusively for them. So, it might not be a bad idea for Persona'a developers to do the same. Those who bought a PS4 will be looking for games for it, and probably won't be too interested in picking up games for their old system, that the new console isn't even backward compatible with. Releasing the game on both would undoubtedly increase sales.
