The release date of Persona 5 has finally been announced – but the news that it is due winter 2014 for the PS3 only has not been taken very well by long-suffering fans.

Also, and rather more unexpectedly, the Vita is to received an apparent Project Diva inspired dancing game in the form of P4 Dancing All Night.

Other new announcements include Persona Q for the 3DS, a crossover RPG featuring both P3 and P4 characters, a Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem crossover for the WiiU, and Persona fighting game “complete edition” for the PS3.

The fact that only now is Sega/Atlus even announcing a new Persona RPG title for the PS3, for release long after the PS4, is being subject to intense ridicule from Persona fans, the patience of whom has long since worn thin:

“Finally!”

“2014 for the PS3. This company is run by idiots, isn’t it?”

“At least they’ll put one out on the PS3.”

“I would have been happy just with a Vita release.”

“What happened to the PS4 version!?”

“They’ve already abandoned the PS4.”

“They are a bit slow to the party.”

“Pity the fools who bought that Catherine rubbish.”

“A year!? You must be joking.”

“I guess they felt they failed with the multiplatform efforts. But a year for a PS3 title? Can’t they shift it to the PS4 in that time?”

“At least they giving every platform something. Persona Q sounds great!”

“Shocking that they didn’t go for a Vita version of P5 though.”

“No Xbox version – despite this franchise being super-popular overseas?”

“Come on Sony, bribe them to do it for the PS4.”

“At least it didn’t end up as a portable title.”
