Sony fans really are overheating – with there now being plenty of complaints about the temperatures the newly launched PlayStation 4 reaches during normal operation, and more than a little concern about the long-term reliability of the hardware.
Paragon of gaming journalism IGN has an intensely dubious user poll suggesting 50% of those who bothered to respond claim to have problems:
Less speculatively, FLIR imagery of the PS4 running at distressingly high temperatures has been doing the rounds online:
And there is the matter of its jet intake fans:
TBH 141 degrees (about 60 celsius) isnt that bad, thats about as hot as my PC gets when I play a game and sinces the new console is more PC like in architecture it kinda makes sense.
60c is enough to break the unit? my older nvidia graphics is sitting at 90c and has survived for 4-5 years so far.
Well, you can always use your new PS4 as a stove, with no need of extra expenses for one of them…
I waited for the PS3/Xbox360 emulators to come out. Thankfully, it seems like there are people hard at work making these a reality. I dropped out of the Console Wars after PS2… not at all sorry that I did. Best bonus, all the good games from that generation are all dirt cheap right now and in most cases, pretty easy to find.
Damn, the quality department at sony just messed up big time!! Sony should have not been so damn cheap and allowed their quality department to do more endurance testing on their systems. SMH!!
