I love seeing this level of dedication from otaku. We sadly lack that here because we want to be "normal".

Do you want to be normal, or be seen by others as being normal? It's not quite the same thing. Freedom starts when you stop caring how other people regard you.

These otaku may be weird... but they're free.

living off your parents money living alone with drawings of girls is freedom to you?

While I agree they should contribute to the household, living alone with drawings of girls is entirely their choice. So yes, it's freedom because they choose to do what they wish, and they don't hurt anyone.

My my, what an fascinating article, if I may say on the contrary one can find a good life long partner/bride, one simply has to search further than that of the local "hangouts" (pubs/clubs) marriage can be a good thing however nowadays it has too many strings attatched to it, too much bureaucracy if you ask me, at the end of the day if a brakeup did happen the child suffers the most, in the uk and many of the western world, the judge almost always sides with the female, mayhaps becouse they are the one that have actully lost something both physically as well as psychologically nontheless the child is most certainly always the victim, many think of guys as the one mentally strong or better off to some extent theres some truth to that however if the guy was the one who wanted to keep the relationship going but wasn't able to it can be quite hard hitting, he could end up feeling suicidal, I've had to give counselling to numerous friends so I should know, this fact shouden't put you off quite the contrary as its just a fact of life..

Simply search and you'll find that special someone with something in common, oh and for the love of life, don't limit yourself to your native country.

As for the argument above my post, I believe the japanese are well aware of this growing problem with the declining population in japan hence we see many anime that covers such subjects, one that comes to mind is' "Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru" I recomend anyone hare that hasn't watched it to look it up on "animefreeks"

I concur personally I don't have a problem with these unique groups of people quite the contrary, to each their own is what I say, a year back if I recall, on gamespot there was a guy that married an Nintendo ds anime character, one american member outburst with a post saying he wanted to attend the wedding and how he wanted to elbow the DS off of the guys hand only to see him in tears, my question is why? he has no problem with samesex marriage but when it comes to anime there's a problem, why the double standards?

Ps: To those asking, to my calculations this birthday is Azusa Nakano‘s 18th birthday based on the K-ON movie Azusa Nakano was 17 at the time.

This may tick some people off but hay life's about having fun and i'm not some stuck up guy ****Happy 18th birthday Azusa**** lol

For the records i'm not a member of these forums I only read up on J-News this is my first post so no offence intended

Every time you post one of these celebration galleries, I have a thought that Japan should build some kind of otaku reservation or heritage park, as these poor fellows are as exotic as mountain gorillas or axolotls. They may be not as scarce, yes, but they sure won't have offspring any time soon. It clearly means they are endangered.

They could become huge tourism attraction and an improvement in the stale economy.

They'd be hard to spot, since they're ashamed to show their faces. Not much of a tourist attraction.

I wonder if K-On could BE a religion.

These fans have already got the worshiping at an altar part down cold. The K-On girls wouldn't make a bad pantheon of goddesses, spreading the gospel of light music, with Ui as Head Priestess.

The Making of the Tea could be their Holy Sacrament, and Snacks shall be shared among the faithful. Pilgrimages will be taken to that real high school building that was the basis for the high school in the show.

    It'd be better than Scientology.

That’s nothing new and it probably could, the Christine have been worshipping a man that never claimed divinity, the Buddha and Hindus and I believe some of the Japanese if not all have been worshipping unanimated statues of animals such as the Cow, the western world, mostly the US (haven’t seen much in the UK) have been worshipping Star-wars and there are others that worship Playstation (Google it and you’ll find that it’s a religion with quite the following)

My point is, this is nothing new it’s been done before; mankind will always yearn to find something to worship.

If you’re wondering I’m an atheist

Real women are drawn to men who will devote their lives to the woman, who will live and die for the woman, who will work themselves into the grave for the woman, and who give everything he has and everything he ever earns over to the woman, gladly.

    You know, a sucker.

Anime girls can't love you. Real woman can't either, being amoral opportunists who will dump you the instant a "better" catch comes along. The only difference is, is you think the real woman loves you, when she doesn't.

Sadly, the anime girl is closer to reality, than your sad illusions of "real" women.

All we really know of reality is what our senses tell us and the contents and constructions of our own minds. As a result, we have no more means of knowing whether a "real" girl loves us than whether an anime girl loves us. The idea that we are loved is merely a construction of our own minds. The only real distinction between a "real" girl and an anime girl is that an anime girl will never stab us in the back.

    Comment by Anonymous
    08:00 13/11/2013 # ! Neutral (0)

ironically an anime girl cannot stimulate your senses (sight and sound, kind of limited)any more than a few seconds of predetermined footage. If that's real enough for you then you might as well just give up on life.

no shit a drawing cant stab you in the back, but it cant do anything else either

Real women are a very diverse group. Generalizing them in a few narrow constraints is no less idiotic than all the feminazi who claim all men are rapist jerkasses.

    Comment by Anonymous
    23:56 12/11/2013 # ! Neutral (0)

I've a lot of debate with the feminazi, and oh boy, they are fucked up.

Make conclusion first before analyze - making debate sound like they pointing out the minor mistake of the other party and completely ignore any point that can damage their argument.

Game's damsel and distress, pointing out Zelda/Peach many time, when someone point out Samus/Jill Valentine = doesn't count.

Have extreme bias - a guy hitting a girl = asshole, a girl hitting a guy = guy probably cheating.

Have tendency to ganging up on person that pointing out their mistake. I once get ambushed by 5 feminazi at once in comment section, and all 5 saying pretty much the same dull argument.

There are many more, but let me rest it like that.
