Outrage at New “MoeMoe” Lupin

The trailer for the latest Lupin movie – Lupin III – Princess of the Breeze – has been stoking outrage amongst fans of the classic franchise for its new character designs, which have been damned as “moefied” and “like Precure.”
The trailer, with the movie due in theatres November 15th:
Fans are not happy about their new shiny-eyed Lupin, moaning profusely about the producers daring to fiddle with the decades old design:
“God, they are making it into a moe anime…”
“Those pupils…”
“Don’t be making Lupin’s eyes all shiny!”
“They Precured up his eyes!”
“Shoujo manga style, why?”
“Lupin is doomed to become a moemoe anime for creepy otaku now!? What the hell…”

The first movie was so so... I hope this one will be better.

And the Lupin vs. Conan TV special was garbage.

Why not a movie with that style, it was fucking sweet. The proportions and style on this movie look very very weird...
that series was really cool, it really mixed well with Lupin's style and was perfect for mood.
I still think the change was more to please the female audience, with all this change feminist and media targeting consumers.

The original look of Lupin can be done with modern production qualities, why is that so difficult? Tom and Jerry still look like Tom and Jerry in their recent cartoons, no one complains about that.
It's fucking up the image of Lupin for a new generation though, that's where the tragedy lies.
