Besides, you probably don't want to know how the story continues. Shit goes downhill real bad. 2nd Raid was already pretty dark, but it gets much MUCH more depressing. Can't say I enjoyed the novels all that much due to this.
The closest you'll ever get to another FMP series is the BD/DVD extras from Chuu2 - serious mecha action.
You can wait forever before Kadokawa decides to made another FMP anime (and it will be done by Gonzo), or you can read novel now.
For a first episode, it's ok. The animation is great, no question.. but the characters are boring.

So far, I HAVE to compare this to "Kore wa Zombie desu ka" - which was 1000 times more amusing, but unfortnately a hopeless harem anime - and not by kyoani, so popularity-fail by default
