It's about the eight week mark when you can first hear the heartbeat, right?
EX edition is just Saya, Sasami and Kanata Route. Nothing more.
EX: Memorial Edition added those three and left out erotic content, but the original EX version also had erotic content. I've seen a few people claim that it doesn't add in erotic scenes for the main protagonist heroines that were in the game before, but having played the game myself, I know 100% that it's not true.
...Actually, from having just googled it, it looks like some kind of online translation in English exists, but because of some bad bugs that would make the EX version unplayable, they made the translation skip over the erotic scenes for the main heroines, though you can still "finish" the game and unlock the three new routes, untranslated. Hmm...
Sigh...Way to have the wrong idea...That's not how it is. Public spokesperson for the Doki VN Team here. We haven't made an English patch for the EX version of LB yet, we've just made one for the regular game, and then we made versions of it that allows you to play through the regular version of the game on EX or ME copies, but obviously without any of the new content. We're still working on the proper EX and ME patches.

It's something different.
Refrain is the last route of the (original) Visual Novel, whereas EX is an extended edition of the VN with extra routes. So we'll get those animated I guess.
Yes, it's going to be different, and it's going to focus on the exclusive routes from the Ex versio,
Sashimi, Kanata and Saya routes.
I doubt that it's going to be a 18+ rated anime special.
I hope it'd be at least on the same level as Yosuga no Sora was...
Just because it was originally a 18+ rated VN, and the "EX" was a short for "Ecstasy", doesn't mean it will be a 18+ adaptation, which just so happens to "almost" every VN adaptation.

Probably not. I just hope they don't wind up changing the heroine that wins in Refrain to the one in EX. I HATE althernate universes and endings so much (unless a sad ending becomes happy).
